Exciting Pickleball Tournament of Van Hoa Newspaper in 2025

VHO - On the afternoon of June 20 in Hanoi, the Van Hoa Newspaper Association organized the 2025 Pickleball Tournament to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

The Van Hoa Newspaper Pickleball Tournament has special significance for the newspaper’s staff, civil servants and employees. This is a healthy playground, contributing to improving physical and mental health.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper, Secretary of the Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, journalist Phan Thanh Nam delivered the opening speech of the Award.

The tournament also strengthens solidarity and creates a competitive spirit within the agency. Through this sports activity, each individual loves their job and unit more, thereby better promoting their role and responsibility at work, contributing positively to the overall development of the Culture Newspaper.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Van Hoa Newspaper, Secretary of the Association, Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee, journalist Phan Thanh Nam emphasized that Pickleball has not been a popular sport for a long time, but because of that, it opens up a completely new space, where everyone can participate with a spirit of equality, comfort, regardless of age, gender or technical level.

Mr. Phan Thanh Nam presented souvenir flags and flowers to the referees and players participating in the competition.

There, laughter is abundant, team spirit is more important than victory and each match is an opportunity for us to understand, become closer and bond with each other.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Phan Thanh Nam expressed his joy that this year's tournament received enthusiastic support from the committees and members of the Association. Everyone put on their shoes, picked up their rackets, and entered the common playground of the Culture Newspaper.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee hopes to build a positive, humane and cohesive working environment through the tournament.

The Editorial Board and the Journalists Association will strive to maintain the Pickleball tournament as an annual activity, with more expansion, professionalism and diversity each year.

“We expect this to not only be a simple sports playground, but will become an internal cultural feature, where team spirit, awareness of health training, joy and sharing are constantly nurtured,” said Mr. Phan Thanh Nam.

The Organizing Committee also recommends that athletes participate in the competition with the spirit of fun, solidarity, health, and winning or losing is not as important as laughing with colleagues after each match.
