According to Nguyen Nhat Thi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dao Thanh Ward: "The activities to celebrate the New Year 2026, associated with the 63rd anniversary of the Victory at Ap Bac (January 2, 1963 - January 2, 2026), have been given special attention and directed by the Ward Party Committee and People's Committee to be organized synchronously and closely follow the set plan."

The activities focus on creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, meeting the people's needs for recreation, entertainment, and cultural enjoyment during the New Year's holiday.
Through cultural, artistic, sports , and traditional activities, the ward aims to awaken pride in its revolutionary historical traditions and strengthen unity among the people.
| The festival will take place vibrantly from December 31, 2025 to January 4, 2026 at Tet Mau Than Park. The event space will be spread throughout Tet Mau Than Park, from the Tet Mau Than monument to Ly Thuong Kiet Street; along with the Tet Mau Than Street and sidewalks, from Ap Bac Street to Ly Thuong Kiet Street, to facilitate participation and enjoyment of the festival activities by locals and tourists. |
This clearly demonstrates the concern and care of the Party committees, government, and various departments and organizations for the material and spiritual well-being of the people in the early days of the new year.
In addition, the organization of the event was focused on practicality and effectiveness, ensuring security and order, traffic safety, environmental hygiene, and fire prevention and control… contributing to the safe and meaningful nature of the activities and leaving a positive impression on the people and tourists.”
The 41st Ap Bac Cross-Country Race in 2026 will be held at Tet Mau Than Park, scheduled to open on the morning of January 1, 2026, as part of the activities celebrating the New Year 2026. The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at the main stage area of Tet Mau Than Park; the closing ceremony and awards presentation will be held at the Dao Thanh Ward Sports Complex. |
A notable highlight was the implementation of the Pedestrian Street Project at Tet Mau Than Park, with the My Tho City Project Management and Land Development Board (now the Area 4 Project Management Board) as the investor.
The project commenced on May 21, 2025, and is currently entering its completion phase, aiming to create a modern landscape and art space, contributing to the creation of a new community living space for residents and enhancing the urban landscape.
With construction progress exceeding 90%, the pedestrian street at Tet Mau Than Park promises to enrich the activities celebrating the 2026 New Year, creating an attractive and lively atmosphere that will draw a large number of locals and tourists to visit and experience it.
As part of the activities to welcome the 2026 New Year, such as: a competition for decorating photo spaces with creative products related to the theme of Spring, the New Year, and the unique characteristics of each unit and locality (exhibition period from December 31, 2025 - January 4, 2026) at the well railing area and park; a cultural program "Welcome to the New Year 2026" taking place on the evening of December 31, 2025 (from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM) at the main stage. Along with that are special exchange activities, specifically: a Danceskid and children's dance group exchange on January 1; a Taekwondo martial arts performance on January 2; and sports dance and DanceSport on February 3.

Simultaneously, music programs will take place at the Water Pavilion: Acoustic, Sing-along, and Band Interaction (from January 1st to January 3rd). Creative experiential activities such as: painting statues, sculpting clay, making traditional toys, sand painting, experiencing folk cuisine/traditional Tet (from December 31st, 2025 to January 4th, 2026); folk games for children such as fishing, dart throwing, train rides… will take place from December 31st, 2025 to January 11th, 2026).

In addition, there are spaces for promoting tourism, folk cuisine , and introducing local products; spaces for displaying ornamental fish, orchids, and bonsai; spaces for displaying OCOP products, workshops, and career guidance…
Through activities aimed at preserving, promoting, and showcasing traditional cultural values, especially local culinary culture, and building local culinary brands; while also strengthening linkages between localities within and outside the province in promoting trade and tourism.

The upcoming preparations for the 2026 New Year's Day celebrations at the Tet Mau Than Park are of practical significance, not only creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere for the people in the first days of the new year but also contributing to promoting cultural and historical values, strengthening community bonds, and publicizing the local image.
This affirms the Party committee and government's concern for the people's spiritual well-being, creating a positive foundation for a peaceful and prosperous new year.
