For a locality with agricultural strengths like Son La , livestream sales have become an effective tool to attract customers and increase revenue for agricultural products.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La, from 2021 to present, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize 9 training courses for businesses and cooperatives to introduce, promote and sell agricultural products on social networking platforms (Tiktok, Zalo, Facebook) and e-commerce platforms in Yen Chau, Moc Chau districts and Son La city. Thereby, helping many cooperatives and farmers access technology, proactively organize livestreams in the garden, and sell agricultural products quite effectively. Many farmers not only know how to sell products, but also tell stories about the products, their origin, creating customer trust in local agricultural products.

For example, recently, the mountainous district of Song Ma coordinated with the Central Youth Union and Son La Provincial Youth Union to organize a training conference to enhance skills in selling OCOP products through digital media for rural youth and livestream to introduce Son La's OCOP products directly implemented and guided by KOLs and KOCs (influencers, key consumers with great influence in the market). Organized a forum on digital transformation in communication to promote OCOP products for young people with the theme "Exploiting the potential of the digital economy in promoting local OCOP products" for 400 delegates.

In addition to providing sales skills guidance, one of the typical initiatives is that the district has linked up with major e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Shopee and Tiki so that farmers can put their products on the platform, reaching millions of consumers. Enterprises and cooperatives have built their own fanpages to increase the ability to bring agricultural products to consumers.

Recently, Kien Cuong Cooperative - Phieng Khoai Commune - Yen Chau District organized a livestream to sell plums and Tai Nung pears right in the garden. When the cooperative's TikTok social network account broadcast live images of the ripe fruit garden, many customers were very excited. In particular, with the Tai Nung pear product, at first many customers thought it was a Chinese pear, but when the cooperative broadcast live images right in the garden of more than 10 hectares, many customers placed orders. Thanks to that, not only the cooperative's plums and Tai Nung pears but also those of many households in the area are known to customers in many places. This year, the cooperative sold more than 20 tons of fruit. At this time, the cooperative is organizing a livestream to sell oranges on social networks so that customers can know and place orders.

In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La will continue to coordinate with agencies and units to open training courses, directly "hand-holding" to support farmers and cooperative members with livestream techniques, helping farmers to proficiently use applications and platforms on their phones, grasp livestream techniques, packaging, online transactions... so that they can become content creators, promote sales and solve output for agricultural products.
