World gold prices continued to reach new highs on April 21, surpassing $3,410 per ounce, amidst a weakening US dollar and escalating trade tensions between the US and key trading partners, raising concerns about recession and forcing investors to remain anchored to safe-haven assets. During the session, gold prices reached a record high of $3,430.18 per ounce. Gold futures in the US also closed up 2.9% at $3,425.30 per ounce.
