The comic writing contest took place from January 15 to June 30, attracting more than 100 entries, of which 95 were valid.
After two rounds of judging, Preliminary and Final, the Jury, consisting of prestigious artists from France, Belgium and Vietnam (Clément Baloup, Emilie Gleason, Daniel (Dany) Henrotin, Ta Huy Long, Nguyen Thanh Phong), found the best works.
Author Truong Hoang Ngoc Anh (Pen name: Nhum) was awarded First Prize with the work "Be Happier".
The two second prizes went to authors Pham Thi Dao (pen name Muc Chi) with "The first work of Truong Xuan dream" and author Le Trung Tien (pen name Phan) with "Today is a good meal".
A third prize was awarded to author Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai (pen name Monarch) for her work "My husband and I".
The Encouragement Prize went to author Nguyen Phat Tai (pen name Avril Trente) with the work "Silk".
Authors and author groups winning Second, Third and Encouragement Prizes will receive prizes worth VND 15 million, VND 10 million, VND 5 million respectively, along with Certificates from the Organizing Committee.
In particular, the first prize winner will be sponsored to attend the Angoulême Comics Festival - the largest cultural and artistic event for comics in France in early 2026. This is an extremely valuable opportunity for Vietnamese authors and artists to approach publishers and the world's leading comic artists.
The contest is not only an opportunity for comic authors and artists to show their talents, but also contributes to building the comic creation community and developing this art book genre in Vietnam.
The Organizing Committee said that the entries are diverse in theme and style, demonstrating the creativity and enthusiasm of authors of many ages, promising to bring a breath of fresh air to the domestic comic market.
With the support of the French Institute in Vietnam, Kim Dong Publishing House will publish the award-winning works to introduce to a wide range of readers.
