Talent born in 2005 makes impressive debut for MU

On the night of April 20, coach Ruben Amorim named young center-back Tyler Fredricson in MU's starting lineup in the 0-1 loss to Wolves in round 33 of the Premier League.

In his first start for the MU first team, Fredricson was placed on the left, next to Victor Lindelof in the center of a three-man defense. The 20-year-old was one of five major changes Amorim made, following the dramatic 5-4 win over Lyon in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on April 18.

In the 90 minutes at Old Trafford, Fredricson played quite well. The 20-year-old player made 4 clearances, 1 interception and 4 successful tackles. Notably, Fredricson achieved a pass accuracy rate of 93%, won 7/8 aerial duels and 5/7 duels.

Fredricson successfully completed all 3 long passes, earning a SofaScore rating of 7.6 - just behind Noussair Mazraoui (7.7) on MU's side. The heatmap shows Fredricson moving aggressively, actively and dominating the left wing.

The young player was named in the MU squad alongside Ronaldo in the Europa League 2 years ago.

The 1.83m tall young talent won the FA Youth Cup with the MU U18 team in 2022, and played for the England U17 and U18 teams. Fredricson has been named on the bench twice this season, as well as being called up to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the Europa League two years ago.

Fredricson is a close teammate of Kobbie Mainoo as the two often appear together on social media. On Instagram , Fredricson shares many personal moments with his luxurious life, expensive holidays and especially his love of lobster.

After the match, Amorim had special praise for Fredricson's performance: "He is calm, humble and always extremely focused in every training session with the first team. Fredricson is very good with his feet, and this is the ideal time for him to have a chance."

In the context that MU no longer has a goal in the Premier League, coach Amorim boldly experiments with the squad to better prepare for the new season.
