Identifying product quality as an important factor, right from the beginning of the season, the district has promoted guidance for farmers to apply new techniques in cultivation. The district has coordinated with departments, branches and specialized units to organize many training courses on plant care and pest control. To cope with unusual weather developments, the district's agricultural sector has proactively monitored and forecasted the growth of lychee trees. From there, it has provided appropriate technical guidance to households.
To help people access new knowledge, training courses are held in communes with large lychee growing areas such as Phuc Hoa, Hop Duc, Lien Chung, etc. For example, the expansion of drip irrigation technology and pruning techniques are expanded to save costs, protect appearance, and reduce pesticide residues.
This year, Tan Yen district has about 560 hectares of early lychee produced according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards with more than 200 growing area codes for export to demanding markets such as the US, Japan, EU, China, Thailand, etc. |
Mr. Vy Van Bao in Phuc Le village (Phuc Hoa commune) said: “My family has 1.5 hectares of early lychee planted according to GlobalGAP standards and has been granted an export code to the US and EU. This year's lychee crop is expected to be a bumper crop. The trees are currently growing and developing well, and the fruit meets the requirements. We are very excited. District agricultural officers regularly come to the garden to guide us on how to care for and supervise the production process, so we are assured and follow the correct procedures to improve the quality of the lychee.”
The application of scientific and technical advances and clean production processes not only helps increase productivity but also makes the lychees bigger, more beautiful and more even. These are important factors for Tan Yen early lychees to improve their competitiveness in high-end markets. This year, the district has about 560 hectares of lychees produced according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards with more than 200 growing area codes for export to markets such as the US, Japan, EU, China, Thailand, etc., an increase of 15 codes compared to 2024.
Creating a “bridge” between production and market
Along with efforts in production, Tan Yen district identifies consumption promotion as an important task that determines the success of each crop season. To stabilize product output, the district has strengthened trade connections both domestically and internationally. In the first and second quarters of 2025, the district's working delegation participated in major international agricultural fairs in China, Singapore and Thailand. This is an opportunity for the district to widely promote Tan Yen early litchi, introduce outstanding advantages in quality and design, thereby creating the premise for signing many export orders and expanding the consumption market.

In particular, this year, the district has applied blockchain technology to trace the origin of products. More than 500 hectares of early lychee in Tan Yen have been assigned QR codes, allowing consumers to easily check and grasp detailed information about the growing area, harvest date, production unit, etc. This is a new step in enhancing the reputation and transparency of the product, while opening up opportunities for Tan Yen lychee to participate more deeply in global supply chains, meeting the increasing demands of the international market.
This year, the conference to promote early consumption of lychees is scheduled to be held at the end of May. Currently, many large distributors, processing enterprises, supermarket chains and e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Sendo, Tiki ... have registered to participate. In addition, the district also actively coordinates with a number of departments and branches in promoting products on reputable domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms such as: Postmart, Voso, Alibaba, Amazon, opening up effective consumption channels. In particular, the exploitation of the potential of the TikTok shop platform through livestream sales - a strongly developing e-commerce trend - has also been implemented by the locality.
Currently, 5 enterprises have signed contracts to consume more than 200 tons of Tan Yen early litchi in the Japanese market - a market with strict requirements on quality and food safety. In the domestic market, Tan Yen early litchi continues to affirm its position and reputation, favored by consumers in Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City... Large and reputable supermarket chains such as WinMart, Big C, MM Mega Market, AEON... have registered to purchase more than 5 thousand tons of litchi this season.
Comrade Ngo Quoc Hung, Chairman of Tan Yen District People's Committee emphasized: "Early lychee is not only a key agricultural product that brings income to people but also a local brand, contributing to promoting the image of Tan Yen to friends at home and abroad. Therefore, the district always strives to accompany people and businesses throughout the process from production to consumption, with the highest goal of building a high-quality lychee region that is strongly competitive in the international market. Therefore, the District People's Committee always directs functional departments, communes and towns to closely coordinate with people in the production process. At the same time, it creates the best conditions for traders to come and purchase, ensuring the consumption process takes place quickly, smoothly and effectively."
Efforts to improve quality, expand markets, and apply technology are strategic directions in lychee production in Tan Yen district. Thereby, increasing people's income and promoting the province's agricultural products to the world.
