Recently, many countries around the world have recorded an increase in COVID-19 cases, especially in Thailand where tens of thousands of people have been infected. This has raised concerns that the COVID-19 epidemic could re-emerge, greatly affecting people's health.

Faced with new developments of the epidemic, the Ministry of Health has issued specific recommendations to effectively prevent and combat the risks of disease intrusion and re-outbreak.
In Ha Tinh, according to information from the provincial Center for Disease Control, no cases of COVID-19 have been recorded recently. This shows the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign for the people. Most people have been vaccinated against COVID-19, thereby creating immunity in the community. However, given the complicated developments of the epidemic in some countries, especially in Thailand, the health sector has also warned of the risk of COVID-19 infiltration.

Master Nguyen Chi Thanh - Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control said: "Although no cases have been recorded, people should not be subjective or negligent because every day there are still many people from Thailand entering Laos and returning to Vietnam through Cau Treo International Border Gate. On the other hand, currently, entering the beach tourism season, the number of visitors to Ha Tinh is quite large, posing many potential risks of spreading and outbreaks of disease. In addition, although the rate of people vaccinated against the disease is high, over a long period of time, resistance and immunity can be reduced, so there is still a risk of re-infection."
Currently, the health sector has directed medical quarantine forces to strengthen the monitoring of people entering the country through border gates to promptly detect suspected cases of the disease and to propagate to people returning from epidemic areas to comply with wearing masks and disease prevention measures.

The health sector recommends that, in the face of potential risks of the COVID-19 epidemic, people need to comply with epidemic prevention and control solutions. In unnecessary cases, limit crowded gatherings and increase wearing of masks in public places to prevent and control respiratory diseases in general and COVID-19 in particular. When having symptoms of respiratory diseases, go to medical facilities for timely examination and treatment to avoid spreading in the community.
“The potential risk of an epidemic is very high, but people should not panic or worry too much because COVID-19 has now been moved from group A to group B, no longer a dangerous infectious disease. Therefore, each person only needs to comply with the recommendations for disease prevention and control of the health sector. At the same time, regularly clean your personal hygiene and living space, increase physical exercise and have a suitable diet to increase resistance” – Master Nguyen Chi Thanh emphasized.
