Strengthening cultural and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Kanagawa province of Japan

At the reception, Director Nguyen Phuong Hoa highly appreciated the attention and close coordination of the Kanagawa provincial government in organizing the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa.

The Director thanked Kanagawa Governor Kuroiwa Yuji for always creating favorable conditions and dedicating cultural space in the locality to promote the image of the country, people, culture and tourism of Vietnam to the Japanese public.

Although Vietnam is focusing its resources on participating in the Osaka World Expo 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is still committed to continuing to accompany Kanagawa Prefecture to organize the Vietnam Festival locally.

In 2025, Vietnam plans to send a water puppetry troupe to perform, organize seminars to introduce tourism and display cultural and tourism products at booths arranged by the Festival Organizing Committee.

Vietnam is also willing to coordinate in organizing activities to introduce culture and tourism of Kanagawa province in Vietnam, contributing to enhancing understanding and exchange between the people of the two countries.

Mr. Wakisaka Michihiro thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the welcome.

He said that the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa was first held in 2015, which is now 10 years old. Through each edition, the Festival has always received active support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, contributing to deepening the friendly relationship between the two countries on a cultural basis. In 2024, Kanagawa Prefecture held the Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi and invited Kawasaki Frontale Football Club to participate in sports exchanges with Vietnamese youth, expanding cooperation from culture to sports.

According to Mr. Michihiro, in 2025, Kanagawa Prefecture will continue to invite the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to attend the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa and logistical preparations have been carefully carried out.

The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen coordination and mobilize resources to successfully organize the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa, contributing to the 10th anniversary of this meaningful event, while promoting more effective cooperation between Vietnam and Kanagawa Prefecture in the fields of culture, tourism and sports.
