On June 6, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, attended the Conference to review 10 years of implementing Directive No. 43 of the Central Committee Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in overcoming the consequences of toxic chemicals used by the US during the war in Vietnam in Dong Nai .
According to Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Dong Nai Province Mai Van Nho, there are more than 8,500 living victims of Agent Orange in the province. The total value of caring for victims of Agent Orange in the past 5 months was over 6.8 billion VND, exceeding 24.4% of the plan for the whole year 2025 (5.5 billion VND). The focus of activities to care for victims of Agent Orange is associated with supporting capital for production and livestock, building charity houses, regular monthly allowances, etc.
Particularly in the process of implementing Directive No. 43, in Dong Nai, 11 provincial and district-level associations have been established, and 150 communes, wards and towns with sufficient conditions have established grassroots associations. Depending on the cause of exposure, the level of exposure and the disability status, Agent Orange victims are entitled to policies for resistance fighters exposed to toxic chemicals, children of resistance fighters exposed to toxic chemicals, and civilian Agent Orange victims.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh suggested that all levels of the association in Dong Nai need to strengthen 5 measures, including: strengthening the implementation of Directive No. 43; strengthening state management, especially in implementing policies for people infected with Agent Orange; strengthening the fight for justice for Agent Orange victims in the international arena; strengthening the building of a strong and comprehensive association; and strengthening the mobilization of social resources to join hands in caring for victims.
On this occasion, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh presented 50 million VND to support the livelihoods of Agent Orange victims in Dong Nai. The provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims commended 102 individuals and groups for their good implementation of Directive No. 43.
