Home to Arabica coffee, Ethiopia has a long tradition of coffee consumption, largely informal, making accurate statistics difficult. However, the country remains the largest coffee consumer in Africa.
The USDA report shows a positive outlook for the growth of domestic coffee consumption, fueled by rapid urbanization, the growth of coffee shops and growing interest among young people in coffee beverages.
Certified washed arabica coffee stocks held in New York fell 34,239 bags to 826,484 bags.
