
Taking place from June 15 to 20 at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center (2 Le Thai To, Hanoi), the tournament brings together 16 strong players from 8 countries: India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Singapore and Vietnam.
This is a prestigious playground organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports with the professional support of the Future Grandmaster Chess Club. This is an annual tournament, not only contributing to creating opportunities for players to accumulate international standards, but also promoting the history, culture and tourism of Vietnam.
This tournament saw the participation of many Grandmasters such as Daniel Quizon (Philippines), Priasmoro Novendra (Indonesia), Tran Tuan Minh (Vietnam) and other leading international Grandmasters in the region, helping to significantly improve the professional quality. The second place in the International Grandmasters table was Priasmoro Novendra with 6.5 points, the third place was Tran Tuan Minh with 5.5 points.
Just a week ago, at the 2025 International Grandmaster - Master Chess Tournament held in Quang Ninh , young Vietnamese player Bang Gia Huy achieved the International Grandmaster standard. These positive results show the practical effectiveness of organizing international standard tournaments right in Vietnam.
