Strengthening Vietnam - China highway and railway connectivity

This is one of six breakthroughs in cooperation with Guangxi (China) mentioned by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during a meeting with leaders of this autonomous region.

On the morning of September 16, after arriving in Nanning city, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Liu Ning - Secretary of the Guangxi Regional Party Committee (China).

Guangxi is the most vibrant place of Vietnam - China friendship.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his pleasure to visit Guangxi, attend the 20th China -ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 20th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS).

The head of the Government also recalled that recently, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan border gate area and planted a "friendship" tree there. Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hung Ba also accompanied him on that visit.

According to the Prime Minister, the above visit demonstrates the importance and top priority of the Vietnamese Party and State for the Vietnam-China relationship .

Among them, Guangxi is the locality that most concentratedly and vividly demonstrates the friendship "both comradeship and brotherhood" between the two Parties, two countries and peoples of Vietnam and China.

The Prime Minister also thanked Guangxi for preserving relic sites related to President Ho Chi Minh during his revolutionary activities there.

On that basis, the Prime Minister hopes that Guangxi will continue to promote its pioneering role, paving the way in promoting exchanges and substantive cooperation between the two countries.

Guangxi Party Secretary Liu Ning expressed his appreciation for the good sentiments of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese leaders towards the locality.

He affirmed that Guangxi always attaches top importance to the friendly and cooperative relations with Vietnamese localities.

6 breakthroughs in cooperation with Guangxi

Discussing cooperation between the two sides in the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the cooperation potential between localities of the two sides.

The Head of Government also mentioned 6 breakthroughs in cooperation in various fields with Guangxi. First, a breakthrough in infrastructure connection cooperation, including strengthening highway and railway connections.

Second, promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, open new and upgrade border gates, and facilitate customs clearance of goods.

Third, carry out more people-to-people exchange activities, youth exchange, culture and arts.

Fourth, close cooperation in the field of border gates, including the smart border gate model to promote customs clearance efficiency and promote two-way trade.

Fifth, effectively implement the three documents on land border management between Vietnam and China, and effectively deploy cooperation activities between the functional forces of the two sides in the border area.

And finally, close cooperation in the field of education and training, including the proposal that Guangxi increase scholarships for Vietnamese students.

In response, Guangxi Party Secretary Liu Ning agreed to coordinate with Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities to deepen cooperation in six breakthrough directions proposed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

In particular, promoting rail and road traffic connections, improving customs clearance efficiency thanks to the smart border gate model, and enhancing seaport cooperation and cooperation in preventing cross-border crimes.
