This is a practical activity to support localities in enhancing their capacity to respond to natural disasters and ensure people's safety during the rainy and stormy season.
Minh Chau is the only island commune of Hanoi Capital, with a special terrain of alluvial land in the middle of the Red River, often affected by floods and inundation. On average, each year, the locality has to face 2-3 months of high water causing localized flooding, cutting off internal traffic, seriously affecting the daily life, study and production of the people.
In the context of climate change, increasingly extreme weather, the risk of natural disasters in this area is increasing, requiring localities to be more proactive in prevention and control work.
At the donation ceremony, the representative of Minh Chau Commune People's Committee emphasized that this is a very valuable and timely resource to help the commune improve its preparedness to respond to natural disasters, especially in conditions with many difficulties in terms of infrastructure. Life jackets and rescue boats will be distributed to the militia, commune police, civil defense teams in villages at risk of deep flooding..., in order to build an on-site shock force, proactive in evacuating and rescuing people and property when an emergency situation occurs.
Not only is it a simple material support, this activity also demonstrates the sense of responsibility and sharing of the young business community with localities that are still in difficulty and vulnerable to natural disasters. According to the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, this is one of the highlights in the series of activities responding to the movement "Youth volunteers for community life", clearly demonstrating the pioneering role of youth in social security work, building new rural areas and developing sustainable communities.
Along with receiving rescue vehicles, Minh Chau commune is also gradually perfecting its disaster response plan according to the "4 on-site" motto, while strengthening training in rescue and first aid skills for grassroots forces.
The donation of life jackets and rescue boats to Minh Chau island commune not only provides urgent support during the storm season, but also acts as an act of adding confidence and motivation for the locality to overcome difficulties, gradually improve its capacity to respond to natural disasters, contributing to ensuring safety, stabilizing people's lives and developing a sustainable socio -economy.
