Promoting and introducing Vietnam's strong agricultural products not only contributes to diversifying the supply source for the Hong Kong market but also creates conditions for many Vietnamese enterprises to have the opportunity to enter the market as well as export to countries in the region and the world through Hong Kong. Many agricultural products such as rice, dried vermicelli, dried pho, coffee, cashew nuts, pepper, fish sauce, confectionery, black garlic, fo-ti, lemon juice... were introduced by the Vietnam Trade Office in Hong Kong in coordination with enterprises at this fair.
Speaking to a VNA reporter in Hong Kong, Ms. Vu Thi Thuy - Deputy Consul General, Counselor of the Vietnam Trade Office in Hong Kong - said that in recent years , economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Hong Kong has made steady progress. According to Hong Kong data, in 2024, two-way trade turnover reached 39.3 billion USD, of which Vietnam exported more than 20 billion USD. In the first 9 months of this year, trade turnover reached a record 49.4 billion USD and Vietnam rose to become Hong Kong's third largest partner, after mainland China and Taiwan (China). Of which, Vietnam's exports to Hong Kong reached 28.9 billion USD, up 79.5% over the same period last year.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Thuy, among the main products that Vietnam exports to Hong Kong such as electronics, textiles, and consumer goods, food and foodstuffs are also products with good growth rates. In the first 9 months of the year, Vietnam's food exports to Hong Kong reached 320.3 million USD, up 18.7% over the same period last year, demonstrating the adaptability of Vietnamese products to the Hong Kong market as well as the Hong Kong market's preference for Vietnamese food. In addition to favorable factors in terms of product structure, Hong Kong's tourism growth is also a bright spot. Last year, Hong Kong attracted 45 million tourists, showing that this is also a potential market for the consumption of agricultural and food products. Ms. Vu Thi Thuy hopes that in the coming time, Vietnamese products will continue to contribute more to Hong Kong's food and beverage industry chain.
Mr. Wison Wong - founder of Starch International - shared that the company specializes in importing agricultural products from Vietnam. In recent years, the Hong Kong market in particular and China in general have been very interested in health-beneficial products, so the company has also focused on importing these products from Vietnam. Hong Kong people love to eat Vietnamese agricultural products, because of their uniqueness and closeness to their culture. Therefore, every year, the company often researches and develops new products to introduce to Hong Kong customers. This year, the company has added a new product, which is boat cakes made from cereals and lemon juice. These are healthy products, convenient for users because with the fast pace of life in Hong Kong, choosing to buy convenient, time-saving products is one of the top priorities of consumers.
