Strengthen and promote digital transformation cooperation

By early 2025, Vietnam will have over 54,500 digital technology enterprises. Not only has the number increased, but the capacity of the enterprises has also been affirmed.

On May 27, in Hanoi , the Vietnam - Asia DX Summit 2025 opened with the theme "Mastering technology - Breakthrough, rise up".

The event, organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), gathered more than 2,500 delegates, including leaders of agencies, departments, technology enterprises and experts from 22 provinces and cities across the country and 16 countries and economies in the region.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of VINASA and General Director of FPT Corporation, said that never before in the history of development have science, technology and digital transformation been placed in such a central position as they are today in the national development strategy.

VINASA's report said that Asia-Pacific is currently the leading region for digital economic growth. Countries in the Asian region are prioritizing a number of key technologies to promote economic growth and digital transformation such as artificial intelligence (AI), green and smart technology, 5G and network infrastructure, and blockchain.

Vietnam currently has more than 1,000 digital technology enterprises exporting services to major markets such as the US, Japan, Europe, Korea, and Australia, generating billions of dollars in revenue each year. According to Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, Vietnam aims to be in the top 3 in ASEAN and the top 50 globally in digital competitiveness and e-government development, with 5 enterprises reaching the world level by 2030 and 10 enterprises by 2045.

By early 2025, Vietnam had over 54,500 digital technology enterprises. Not only has the number increased, the capacity of enterprises has also been affirmed. According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the rate of enterprises using digital platforms increased from 30% (2021) to nearly 70% (2024); Digital Government is developing strongly with more than 95% of level 4 public services; digital economy accounts for about 16.5% of GDP in 2024, aiming for 20% of GDP in 2025. The National Digital Transformation Program and Project 06 on developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication have created a revolution in the operations of state agencies.

The goal is that by the end of 2025, 100% of eligible administrative procedures will be provided as full-service online public services, developing digital infrastructure for industries... Meanwhile, the business digital transformation market is expected to explode in the coming time with breakthrough incentive policies to promote digital transformation and technology transformation from the government. Vietnam's digital economic growth rate, expected to reach over 20%/year, is mainly driven by the transformation of the business sector.

Vietnam - Asia DX Summit 2025 with 9 in-depth seminars on policies, research, cooperation in developing strategic technologies: AI, Internet of Things, big data, cyber security, infrastructure and energy, green - smart manufacturing, international cooperation and experience. Along with that are topics demonstrating advanced digital solutions, digital technology exhibitions and investment and cooperation connection programs, bringing opportunities for effective meetings and exchanges between businesses and the state, between domestic businesses and international partners every year.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, the journey for Vietnam to become a developed digital nation, a technology center in the region still has many challenges, from developing high-quality human resources, perfecting institutions to enhancing global competitiveness. However, with the convergence of favorable conditions: a clear national strategy, breakthrough policies, increasingly mature business capacity and a large domestic market, the opportunity for Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to "breakthrough and grow" is extremely bright.

To turn opportunities into reality, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa suggested that joint action is needed. “Vietnam holds its own technological destiny in its hands. By mastering technology and taking advantage of opportunities from comprehensive digital transformation, digital technology enterprises not only contribute to the prosperity of the country but can also put Vietnam on the world technology map,” said the Chairman of VINASA.

According to the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), to promote common growth, Asian economies and technology enterprises can focus on the following cooperation contents: Researching new technologies such as quantum computing, 6G, and advanced AI applications in healthcare, manufacturing, and finance; Establishing cross-border talent exchange programs; Cooperating in organizing regular B2B events, technology exhibitions, and digital conferences to promote partnerships; Sharing infrastructure and resources: Developing common data centers, cloud services, and AI platforms to support collaborative projects; Cooperating to harmonize regulations and standards, facilitating cross-border cooperation.
