Training on propaganda to prevent and combat human trafficking and foot-and-mouth disease in 2024 in Thai Nguyen

Implementing the Program on prevention and control of human trafficking for the period 2021-2025 and orientation to 2030 and the National Program on prevention and control of foot-and-mouth disease, period 2020-2025, on the morning of July 4, 2024 in Thai Nguyen, the Department of Grassroots Information - Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications of Thai Nguyen province to organize a training conference to propagate the Program on prevention and control of human trafficking and prevention and control of foot-and-mouth disease in 2024.

Dr. Nguyen Van Truong, lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, spoke at the conference.

The conference was attended by nearly 200 trainees who are grassroots information workers of the District Department of Culture and Information, the District Center for Culture, Sports and Communication, and officers in charge of radio stations of 177 communes and wards in Thai Nguyen province.

Currently, the situation of human trafficking crimes in the world is very complicated, with many potential risks that directly affect human rights. After the Covid epidemic was controlled, the situation of luring and deceiving people to go to Cambodia, Myanmar... to work under the guise of "easy work, high salary" has become more complicated. In addition, according to reports from veterinary agencies and localities, from the beginning of 2024 to now, 44 communes of 13 provinces and cities have had Foot and Mouth Disease outbreaks and many other localities continue to have many dangerous diseases such as African swine fever, rabies, lumpy skin disease, avian influenza, and these epidemics are at risk of continuing to increase sharply in the coming time, seriously affecting food supply, consumer price index (CPI), people's health and the environment. On June 16, 2024, the Prime Minister issued urgent dispatch No. 58/CD-TTg requesting ministries, branches and localities to focus on synchronously, drastically and effectively implementing solutions to prevent and control livestock and poultry diseases. Therefore, the dissemination, information and propaganda work to people at the grassroots level about the above issues on mass media, especially on the grassroots broadcasting system, is extremely important and necessary.

At the conference, the trainees listened to and discussed propaganda work with 3 topics including: Propaganda on prevention and control of foot-and-mouth disease in livestock presented by Dr. Pham Thanh Long, Department of Animal Health - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Topic on propaganda on prevention and control of crimes of human trafficking and illegal exit to find work presented by Lieutenant Colonel Khong Ngoc Oanh, Department of Criminal Police - Ministry of Public Security .

To ensure the quality and effectiveness of propaganda work on the district and commune radio systems, students also listened to Dr. Nguyen Van Truong, lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, discuss and guide on skills in applying digital technology to produce radio programs for grassroots radio stations.

Through the organization of conferences, people working in communication at the grassroots level are equipped, supplemented and provided with a lot of useful information, improve their professional qualifications, gain more skills in applying digital technology to produce radio programs, promptly propagate the Party's policies, the State's laws and policies, and propagate to serve local political tasks.
