The Customs sector continues to focus resources on developing and perfecting legal documents on customs, simplifying administrative procedures, creating a more transparent, fair, and favorable import-export environment for businesses.

Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Van Tho emphasized this message at the 2024 Customs - Business Forum with the theme: "10 years of developing Customs - Business partnership" organized by Customs Magazine and the Customs Modernization Reform Board, taking place on the morning of September 10, 2024.

According to Mr. Tho, the economy from the beginning of 2024 until now still faces many difficulties and challenges . Continuing to develop the Customs - Business partnership as usual over the past decades, in order to develop economic activities, has always been a priority for the Customs sector, in order to support and accompany the business community at the highest level.

Every year, the Customs Department has organized hundreds of Customs-Business dialogue conferences. Through dialogue programs and customs policy reforms, tens of thousands of business problems have been promptly resolved by the Customs Department, promoting production and trade activities, contributing to economic growth.

The Customs Department has focused on consulting the business community on policies and legal regulations on customs and taxes; key reform and modernization programs before they are issued; and solutions to remove obstacles and difficulties for businesses.

" The Government is promoting national digital transformation, creating a breakthrough for socio-economic development. Accordingly, the Customs sector is implementing the Customs Development Strategy to 2023, with the goal of facilitating trade activities, creating a transparent and fair import-export environment, enhancing national competitiveness, simplifying customs procedures, and gradually improving customs inspection and supervision capacity," Mr. Tho emphasized.

At the same time, Customs cooperation activities with Associations and enterprises have also been promoted to consult, develop policies and laws; exchange and update information on new regulations and policies in the customs sector, law enforcement processes and implement initiatives on reforming working methods to implement customs reform and modernization programs.

In the coming time, the Customs sector will continue to focus resources on developing and perfecting legal documents on customs to simplify administrative procedures, facilitate customs procedures and gradually improve the capacity of customs inspection, supervision and control.

Improve the operational efficiency of Customs agencies through digital tools, contributing to innovation in working methods; improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Customs agencies and the quality of public service provision to people and businesses.

To develop the Customs sector in the context of a deeply integrated economy, the "Commander" of the Customs sector affirmed: "The work of developing the partnership between Customs - Enterprises and related parties is still focused on the spirit of listening and innovation, considering enterprises as cooperative partners; taking the satisfaction of enterprises as one of the top important criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of the Customs agency's operations".
