With the aim of supporting "sprint king" Nick Kergozou to compete for the stage win, the riders of team 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long, 620 Nong Nghiep Vinh Long proactively acted as the tractor to bring the whole group to the finish line. At the finish line in Dong Hoi City, New Zealand foreigner Nick Kergozou demonstrated his class as a "top-class" sprinter when he defeated his competitors and finished first. Winning the stage for the third time helped Nick Kergozou maintain the title of green jersey - sprint king, increasing the green jersey score gap with his competitors.

Racer Nguyen Tan Hoai (Loc Troi An Giang Group) finished third after Nick Kergozou and Nguyen Van Binh (HCMC New Group), successfully defending the orange jersey for the best performing Vietnamese racer. Rounding out the top group, Loic Desriac (Domesco Pharmaceutical Dong Thap) continued to hold the prestigious yellow jersey for the racer with the least racing time after 7 stages. Dang Van Phap (620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long) also defended the white jersey for the best young racer.
