Panel discussion on implementing green growth and carbon neutrality goals

The activity is part of a series of events of the class "Updating knowledge and skills in leadership, management of environmental protection and climate change response in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the new era", taking place on May 24 and 25 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The seminar aims to share and exchange theoretical and practical knowledge on sustainable development and climate change adaptation, while raising awareness and action of cadres, civil servants and public employees in implementing green growth and carbon neutrality goals.

At the seminar, Mr. Pham Quoc Dang - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that in recent years, the environmental protection results of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province have always achieved high rankings. In 2020, it was in the top 5 best localities, in 2021 it ranked 2nd with 78.79 points, in 2023 it ranked 2nd with 63.18 points. The provincial green index in 2024 increased to 26.26 points, compared to 23.47 points in 2023, showing that the province has made great efforts in sustainable development.

Many presentations at the seminar also shared the current situation, solutions and responsibilities of civil servants and public employees in implementing the goal of green growth and carbon neutrality, and proposed measures to integrate into local socio -economic development plans.
