Tay Ninh promotes cashless payments

Implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 124/CD-TTg dated July 30, 2025, in recent times, non-cash payment activities in Tay Ninh province have had many positive changes, contributing to promoting digital transformation and improving the efficiency of financial management. However, the use of cash is still common in some areas.

To overcome the limitations, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son directed departments, branches and localities to focus on implementing many key tasks and solutions, which is promoting non-cash payments in the province.

The State Bank of Vietnam, Regional Branch 13, is assigned the role of focal point, coordinating with relevant units to implement programs to promote non-cash payments according to the Central Government's orientation; at the same time, advising on the summary of the 2021-2025 period.

Credit institutions are required to expand payment infrastructure, develop digital banking services, and e-wallets to ensure safety and convenience for people and businesses. In 2025, the province will pilot the model of “Cashless Communes” or “Cashless Streets and Roads”.

The Department of Finance, the State Treasury, and the Tax Department promote spending and budget payments electronically; the Department of Industry and Trade increases cashless payments in markets, supermarkets, and shopping malls; the Department of Health and the Department of Education and Training direct 100% of hospitals and schools to collect hospital fees and tuition fees electronically.

The provincial Social Insurance cooperates with banks to open free accounts for pensioners and beneficiaries; the Department of Home Affairs implements social security payments via banks or e-wallets.

The provincial police are tasked with ensuring security and safety in the payment sector and preventing violations of the law. At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations have stepped up propaganda, especially in rural and border areas, to raise awareness and encourage people to change their payment habits.

The synchronous implementation of solutions is expected to contribute to changing consumer habits, improving transparency, promoting digital economy and sustainable development in Tay Ninh province./.
