Sophia Phuong Anh (full name is Tran Phuong Anh) has just finished her training at UPA Trailblazers Asia (USA). This is a professional and prestigious pickleball training program in the US jointly implemented by the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and MLP Asia.

She has undergone 3 months of rigorous training and technical improvement with the world's leading coaches. She has also participated in a number of international tournaments organized by PPA and MLP, making a strong impression with outstanding achievements in the international arena.
Specifically, during this time, the 17-year-old tennis player won the 5.0 women's doubles championship, won the Silver Medal (HCB) in the 5.0 mixed doubles at the MLP Phoenix Flames tournament; won the Silver Medal (HCB) in the 5.0 mixed doubles at the PPA Atlanta Slam tournament; won the Silver Medal (HCB) in the 5.0 women's doubles and the Bronze Medal (HCB) in the 5.0 women's singles at the PPA Orange County Cup.
Immediately after returning to her homeland Vietnam, with her peak performance and steely spirit, Sophia Phuong Anh became the center of attention at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025, taking place in Tam Ky ward ( Da Nang ).
This is the first domestic tournament that Phuong Anh has participated in after returning from a special training trip in the US, and after participating in the international PPA Malaysia tournament in early July.
In the final of the U18 women's singles, Sophia Phuong Anh faced Kei Wasaki - a professional athlete with 4,900 DUPR points from Japan.
Trailing in the final set, it seemed like defeat was imminent, but with a strong will and techniques honed through an international training environment, Sophia Phuong Anh made a spectacular breakthrough. She won back each important point, controlled the game and made an excellent comeback, ending the match in the excitement of the audience and coaching staff.

Not stopping there, in the U18 women's doubles event, Sophia Phuong Anh paired up with a young Vietnamese player, Jolie Lam, to face Kei Wasaki and Yuna - the "steel" duo of Japan, both of whom are professional athletes competing in the international tournament system.
The match was tense with many dramatic moments, but the Vietnamese duo showed their understanding and flexible tactics to win the final victory, bringing Sophia Phuong Anh's total number of gold medals at the tournament to 2.
Not only that, she continued to win the silver medal at the 2025 People's Public Security Pickleball Tournament held in mid-July in the mixed doubles event when paired with Chinese player Jack Wong. This was the first time the duo had teamed up, but their good coordination brought about eye-catching matches.

Most recently, at the HCMC D-JOY Junior Pickleball Tour 2025 tournament held in early August, Sophia Phuong Anh made a strong impression when teaming up with young Vietnamese-American player Rex Thais. The two coordinated well and comprehensively in every move to excellently win the U18 mixed doubles championship against opponents Hoai Anh and Jolie Lam.
Through thrilling and dramatic matches, Sophia Phuong Anh proved to the audience her ability to play calmly and with smart tactics.
Sophia Phuong Anh's strong comeback is a testament to her remarkable growth after her training journey in the US. This is also a promising start to the series of international tournaments she will participate in in the near future.
