Doan Van Hau plays again for CAHN Club

Defender Doan Van Hau continued to bring positive signals when he played in his second match after more than two years of injury treatment.

In the friendly match between CAHN and Lion City Sailors on November 14, the 1999-born star was given the opportunity to play from the start by coach Mano Polking. Not only that, Van Hau was also given the captain's armband, showing great trust from the coaching staff.

Before that, Van Hau had a "warm-up" when he entered the field for about the last 10 minutes of the friendly match with Hanoi in early October. These were cautious steps, part of the phased recovery plan that coach Polking built for the former left-back of the Vietnam national team.

Coach Polking chose a cautious approach, avoiding all risks for his student. CAHN's friendly matches are all about getting used to the rhythm of the game, limiting strong collisions to help Van Hau gradually increase his feeling for the ball without exceeding his strength. He can now return to training according to the general training plan with the whole team, but the medical team is still closely monitoring all developments.

It is expected that Van Hau will not be able to fully recover until early 2026 to compete at the highest intensity. However, his return to the field and wearing the captain's armband is a positive sign, showing that the CAHN defender is gradually getting closer to a strong comeback.

In October 2023, he missed the Vietnam national team due to a heel injury and has been off the field ever since. Although he was expected to be out for 6-8 months, conservative treatment did not bring the desired results.

By March 2024, Van Hau was forced to undergo surgery and then repeatedly traveled to Singapore and Korea for intensive treatment. During this time, Van Hau wore a fixed foot brace and was almost unable to train normally.
