Overall assessment of the match, acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh commented that U22 Vietnam met a well-organized opponent with rich international experience.
The early lead forced the team to adjust, but the players still maintained stability in tactical operations.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized: “In this match, the U22 Vietnam players played with determination and discipline. Despite conceding an early goal, the whole team remained calm and gradually regained their rhythm. I am satisfied with the players’ efforts and attitude.”
He also acknowledged that the team still has some areas for improvement, especially in the final stages and maintaining the pressing rhythm throughout the match. In the second half, U22 Vietnam created some notable situations but lacked the accuracy to convert them into goals.
“This result is regrettable. The team had good chances but lacked precision in decisive situations. However, this is a tournament that helps us build the squad, test our players and gain experience. The players will meet to learn from experience to improve,” said Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh.
Preparing for the match against U22 Korea, coach Dinh Hong Vinh assessed this as an opponent with a strong physical foundation, speed and modern playing style: “We will re-analyze the match, consider the physical condition of each player to make appropriate adjustments. The goal is to play more organized, maintain team distance and improve quality in final handling situations. At the same time, we will continue to give opportunities to players who need more playing time.”
Besides the technical skills, Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh highly appreciated the bravery of the players when they were at an early disadvantage: “The early loss affected the tactics, but the important thing is that the whole team did not get carried away by the opponent. The players were steadfast in their original intentions and continuously looked for opportunities. I was pleased that the team spirit did not give up.”
U22 Vietnam will return to training on November 14 to prepare for the final match against U22 Korea, taking place at 2:30 p.m. (Vietnam time) on November 18. This continues to be an important test for the team to perfect their playing style and evaluate their strength before the preparation phase for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
