On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Cat Ba fishing village ( Hai Phong ) and the Traditional Day of the Fisheries Industry April 1 (1959-2025), this morning, March 27, the Department of Fisheries of Quang Tri province coordinated with the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district, the People's Committee of Trieu Ai commune, Gio Cam Ha Irrigation Enterprise and Ai Tu Irrigation Cluster to organize a ceremony to release fish fry to supplement and regenerate aquatic resources at Ai Tu lake.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Huu Vinh emphasized: In order to strive to achieve the targets on fisheries development, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue plans and solutions, including Plan No. 26/KH-UBND, dated February 5, 2024 on Protection and development of aquatic resources in Quang Tri province.

Therefore, aquatic resource regeneration activities continue to be maintained and implemented in most freshwater, brackish water and saltwater bodies, contributing to supplementing and restoring aquatic resources, including many endangered and rare aquatic species.

The fish seed release ceremony not only promotes, disseminates, supplements and regenerates aquatic resources but also raises awareness and responsibility of the community in protecting, restoring and regenerating these resources.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Vinh called on all the people, business community, entrepreneurs inside and outside the province, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Tri province, together with the local government, to unite and join hands to support the province in protecting and regenerating aquatic resources.

At the same time, actively propagate so that people do not exploit aquatic resources illegally and do not use destructive methods that deplete aquatic resources.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, delegates released 25,000 fish fry including silver carp, grass carp, catfish, and common carp to supplement resources in Ai Tu Lake, contributing to the restoration, conservation, and regeneration of local aquatic resources.

It is known that releasing fish to regenerate aquatic resources is an activity organized annually by the Department of Fisheries to raise people's awareness in exploiting and protecting aquatic resources and protecting the living environment of aquatic species in the area, contributing to creating ecological balance and diversifying natural aquatic species.

In 2024 alone, the unit will coordinate with relevant units and localities to release more than 205,000 fish fry at Nghia Hy Lake (Cam Lo) and Tram Tra Loc (Hai Lang).
