Thai Nguyen province also aims to develop broadband fiber optic cable and 4G mobile information coverage to 100% of hamlets by 2025 and increase the percentage of households with fiber optic Internet to over 80%.

The impressive results in eliminating "troughs" in mobile and telecommunications waves in recent times have shown Thai Nguyen's progress in investing in building and developing digital infrastructure and promoting digital transformation.

"Sweet fruit" from digital transformation

In 2024, despite facing many difficulties due to the complicated developments of epidemics, natural disasters, storms and floods, Thai Nguyen has basically achieved the set goals and tasks, contributing to realizing achievements in the fields of socio-economic development.

The development of Thai Nguyen in recent times is a combination of many factors, which originate from the province's breakthrough decisions, which are focusing on developing transport infrastructure with regional connectivity, perfecting broadband digital infrastructure, constantly improving the investment environment, promoting administrative reform, training and developing human resources...

In the field of digital transformation, Thai Nguyen has quickly seized the opportunity to create and develop, and is considered one of the first localities in the country to issue a specialized Resolution on this field.

After nearly 4 years of implementation, Thai Nguyen has basically completed 15/15 digital transformation goals according to Resolution No. 01-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on the Digital Transformation Program of Thai Nguyen province for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

Developing digital infrastructure - an important goal

Recognizing the important role of digital infrastructure, the relevant departments and agencies of Thai Nguyen province have implemented many specific and practical solutions to expand coverage and improve the quality of mobile telecommunications services, such as: guiding units to build mobile information transmission and reception stations with locations suitable to the province's detailed planning of passive telecommunications infrastructure; guiding, supporting and directing telecommunications enterprises to implement programs to provide public telecommunications services, expand coverage in villages and hamlets without signal; requesting relevant units to coordinate and create conditions for telecommunications enterprises to deploy infrastructure construction to expand the coverage of mobile telecommunications services...

Thai Nguyen strives to become one of the digital transformation centers of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region by 2030, contributing to the country's successful implementation of the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030. To do that, Thai Nguyen province will focus on tasks and solutions with the eight-word motto: stability; inheritance; innovation; development. Thai Nguyen identified digital infrastructure development as an important goal that needs to be implemented in the coming period, including 5G network with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps, covering 100% of universities and hospitals (by 2024); 100% of residential areas (by 2025); 100% of expressways and national highways covered with 4G/5G mobile broadband; universalizing broadband fiber optic connections to households, 100% of customers in need have Gbps speed FTTH access; calling for investment in building data centers (DataCenter) (scale of over 1000 racks, over 10MW) to provide data services to the midland and mountainous areas of the North, especially FDI enterprises.

Thai Nguyen will upgrade the province's shared data center, serving data storage and deploying digital transformation applications; build digital twins in industrial parks; deploy drone and camera applications in agricultural production and processing, especially for tea plants; deploy a 5G application experience center; develop pilot models combining new infrastructure, innovative applications to improve operational productivity, consistent investment, cost savings and investment efficiency for key areas to deploy and replicate throughout the province, the region and the country (factories, hospitals, schools, industrial parks, agriculture, public administration).
