Implementing the Government's direction, as of May 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand have closely coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security , relevant Vietnamese agencies, and local authorities to bring more than 450 Vietnamese citizens back to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively working with relevant countries, continuing to direct Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Myanmar, coordinating with local authorities and domestic authorities to organize the repatriation of the remaining citizens as soon as possible.
According to the Spokesperson, there are currently about 200 Vietnamese citizens violating immigration regulations and being detained in Myanmar.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to advise Vietnamese citizens to be vigilant against invitations to go abroad for "easy work, high salary".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also recommends that before citizens decide to work abroad, they need to carefully research the content, regime, and intended work location to avoid falling into scam traps and becoming illegal residents and workers abroad.
Family members of Vietnamese citizens who want to contact and request assistance, please contact the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar, the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand and the Consular Department via the hotlines and citizen protection hotlines.
