Total production value in 2023 is estimated at VND 33,490 billion, up 13.77% compared to 2022. Of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery is estimated at VND 5,530 billion, up 1.68%; industry, handicrafts and basic construction are estimated at VND 22,740 billion, up 19.60%; trade and services are estimated at VND 5,220 billion, up 4.71%. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction: agriculture, forestry and fishery account for 16.8%; industry, handicrafts and basic construction account for 68.2%; trade and services account for 15.1%. Export turnover is estimated at 176,927 million USD, up 35.86%. Total state budget revenue in 2023 is estimated at VND 2,418 billion, reaching 172.5% of the provincial estimate, equal to 104.2% of the district estimate. In 2023, the district implemented 23 investment projects, approved 106 site clearance plans, and the compensation and support fund for site clearance was VND 94.5 billion. The district is focusing on directing Thuy Dan, Thai Thinh, and Thai Do communes to strive to complete the advanced new rural criteria in 2023.
In 2024, Thai Thuy district strives for a production value of 38,826 billion VND, an increase of 15.93% compared to 2023; strives for the poverty rate to decrease by 0.2%/year or more; has 7-9 communes meeting the criteria for advanced new rural areas; the rate of families meeting cultural standards reaches over 92%.
