According to the results of a two-day poll of 856 voters across the United States by Reuters/Ipsos ending on April 30 local time, US President Joe Biden is only 1% ahead of his opponent, former President Donald Trump.
This result shows that Mr. Donald Trump is narrowing the gap with President Joe Biden in the 2024 US presidential race.
Meanwhile, a poll from SSRS Data Services that ended on April 28 showed the opposite result. Donald Trump prevailed over President Joe Biden, despite Trump facing criminal charges. Voter support for Trump remained steady at 49% in a head-to-head matchup with Biden, while Biden only had 43%.
According to experts, the decisive factor in the November election will likely be independent voters. According to a 2023 survey, about a quarter of Americans are undecided about which candidate they will vote for, and many even predict that voter turnout this year will be the lowest ever.
