Visit and give gifts to soldiers and people of Truong Sa

BPO - During the historic days of April, commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Truong Sa, the working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, led by Colonel Nguyen Thanh Ruan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, joined Working Group No. 11 of the Navy to visit and encourage officers and soldiers working in Truong Sa archipelago, Khanh Hoa province.

Also participating in the delegation were representatives of the leadership of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department and relevant departments and branches.

During 6 days, from April 17 to April 23, Working Group No. 11 of the Navy with members from provincial, municipal, ministerial and business units visited officers, soldiers and people on Sinh Ton Island, Sinh Ton Island Commune; visited officers and soldiers on duty at Colin Island, Dong C Reef, Tay A Reef, DK1/11 rig and visited Truong Sa Island.

Before boarding the ship to begin the working journey, the delegation burned incense to commemorate and pay tribute to the officers and soldiers who sacrificed for the sovereignty of the sea and islands at the memorial monument of the Ship Without Numbers located in Brigade 125, Naval Region 2.

Before departure, authorized by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Phuoc province, the delegation presented a symbolic gift of 5.2 billion VND to the Navy to build CQ boats.

The delegation burned incense, commemorated and paid tribute to the officers and soldiers who sacrificed for the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland at the memorial of the Ships Without Numbers at Brigade 125. In Truong Sa town, the delegation attended the flag-raising ceremony, reviewed the troops, and offered incense at the Uncle Ho memorial house and the martyrs' monument.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Ruan, Deputy Political Commissar of Binh Phuoc Provincial Military Command, spoke at Da Dong C Island.

At the places they visited, the delegation listened to and quickly grasped the working and living situation of the forces on the island, presented gifts from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Phuoc province to officers and soldiers on duty and households living on the island; at the same time, sent best wishes, affirming that despite many difficulties, the authorities and people of Binh Phuoc are always ready to share and turn to Truong Sa, an inseparable part of Vietnam.

During the voyage to Truong Sa, the delegation held a memorial service for martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

At Da Dong C Island, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Ruan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of Binh Phuoc Province, affirmed: “The Party Committee, government and people of Binh Phuoc Province in particular, and the people of the whole country in general, are determined to contribute human and material resources to build Truong Sa, as well as other platforms, so that Truong Sa will grow stronger and stronger, and also to contribute with the whole country to firmly protect the front line of the sea and island borders of the Fatherland.”

Authorized by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the delegation presented gifts to officers and soldiers working in Truong Sa and people living here.

During the visit, Rear Admiral Le Ba Quan thanked the Party, government, and people from local to central levels for their material concern, from small things like telephones to material things that are lacking here, including the great material concern to build islands and platforms stronger and stronger to be able to defend against hostile forces that want to violate the country's sovereignty over seas and islands.

The working trip became even more meaningful when the delegation visited and encouraged the officers and soldiers on duty at Truong Sa archipelago, DK I/11 platform and the people living on the island right at the time when the whole country was preparing for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of national reunification, 50th anniversary of Truong Sa liberation (April 29, 1975 - April 29, 2025) and 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Navy (May 7, 1975 - May 7, 2025).
