At the same time, the New Year is also the peak season for Tet goods sales, so most distribution and retail channels increase supply, stabilize prices and control product quality.

Specifically, at some large modern distribution channels in Ho Chi Minh City such as the retail system of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives ( Saigon Co.op ) has been supplying the market with an abundant source of goods, along with a variety of promotional activities and diverse product experiences to serve the 2025 Tet season; in which, Saigon Co.op has implemented Tet promotions with the theme "Come to Co.op to bring Tet home" continuously for 59 days from December 1, 2024 to January 28, 2025, applying 3,500 heavily discounted Tet items and have been covering the shelves of Saigon Co.op's retail system such as Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food... so that the purchasing power at this retail system has increased by 30% -40% compared to previous business months.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op, this retailer always closely follows market developments to flexibly adapt its service scenarios to the increasing number of customers coming to shop following the heat of the Tet market.

At the same time, most of Saigon Co.op's points of sale have increased quality control of goods, especially fresh food, seasonal goods for Tet... to help customers feel secure when shopping.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang also emphasized that in order to proactively ensure stable supply and prices to serve people's consumption needs for Tet 2025, Saigon Co.op has proactively developed a plan and organized the implementation of stockpiling goods with a total reserve output of more than 12,000 tons.

Most of the budget is prioritized for 9 groups of market-stabilizing goods with an increase of 30-50% compared to normal months, equivalent to a total value of up to 10,000 billion VND; the rest is for food groups, other non-food items and Tet specialties.

Similarly, Saigon Trading Group - One Member Limited Liability Company (SATRA), in addition to ensuring adequate supply for Tet and limiting price increases near Tet, also prepares a plan to strictly control the quality of goods for sale, not stockpiling or trading goods of unknown origin or not ensuring food safety.

Up to now, SATRA has worked with its member enterprises and partners (goods suppliers for the SATRA retail system) to ensure adequate supply of goods for Tet, with the ability to supply about 3,550 tons for Tet month, an increase of about 29.4% compared to the normal month (2,740 tons) and an increase of 10% compared to the month before Tet in the same period last year, equivalent to a capital of nearly 500 billion VND.

Regarding measures to ensure food safety and traceability, SATRA has increased testing of food safety quality monitoring indicators for groups of products used frequently during Tet, including meat and meat products; eggs, seafood; vegetables, fruits; cakes, jams.

In addition, SATRA has stepped up inspection activities to promptly detect, correct and immediately handle products that do not meet food safety regulations, ensuring that goods for sale must have a clear origin.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan, Deputy General Director of SATRA, said that during Tet, SATRA also officially opened and put into operation the SATRA Vo Van Kiet Trade Center, District 6, Ho Chi Minh City.

This will be the only "one-stop-shopping" destination on Vo Van Kiet Avenue, serving residents of District 6 and neighboring districts such as District 8, 5, 11, Binh Tan and Tan Phu during this year's Tet shopping, entertainment and recreation season.

Regarding the 2025 Tet market, the report of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City also shows that, regarding goods distribution activities, the department coordinates with the People's Committees of districts, towns, and Thu Duc city to deploy many solutions, urging wholesale markets, traditional markets, supermarket systems, and convenience stores to focus on monitoring and grasping the market.

At the same time, all retail outlets need to estimate demand, prepare supply, closely follow the price situation of goods at the source, strictly implement regulations on price listing, trade goods with clear origin, and ensure food safety.

Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the department also required supermarket and convenience store systems to increase human resources, increase service capacity, and extend operating hours to ensure the supply of goods in the days leading up to Tet..., resolutely not allowing empty shelves or congestion of customers shopping for Tet.

On the other hand, in order to reduce the pressure of people shopping and stockpiling before Tet, most distribution systems are expected to open almost throughout Tet, only closing on the first day; only some store systems such as Family Mart, GS25, Kingfood Mart... will operate throughout Tet.
