On the afternoon of April 3, at the Conference summarizing tourism development cooperation activities between Ho Chi Minh City and the Northeastern provinces (Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Giang , Lang Son, Quang Ninh and Vinh Phuc), the period of 2024 - 2025 taking place in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the localities agreed to innovate tourism development cooperation in the cooperation group.

Specifically, in the coming period, localities in the association group will actively organize and participate in common activities and events within the cooperation framework, as well as response programs taking place in Ho Chi Minh City and the Northeastern provinces. In addition, localities in the association group will develop tourism products through organizing innovative activities; linking the consumption of OCOP products and typical products; Famtrip will build tourism programs and regional tourism routes; survey teams will learn from experiences in building tourism destination models, etc. In particular, the issue of promoting communication and promoting the tourism image of Ho Chi Minh City and the Northeastern provinces, applying digital transformation technology to cooperation and linkage activities to develop tourism, smart tourism ecosystems, etc. is also one of the key tasks of the coming period.
Ms. Nong Thi Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province, said that tourism development linkage is an indispensable activity for localities, so it is necessary to further promote the activities of linkage groups, especially to improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion in Ho Chi Minh City and the Northeastern provinces. Typically, linkage groups have solutions to create opportunities for tourism and travel businesses to learn about and exploit the potential and strengths of local tourism in linkage groups; enhance responsibility and research to innovate the promotion program for destinations of each province, city and inter-regional tours...
According to Mr. Nguyen Dang An, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, who is also the head of the Working Group for tourism development linkage between Ho Chi Minh City and the Northeastern provinces, in the period of 2024 - 2025, in the past time, through the linkage program, the Northeastern provinces have had positive changes and achieved results in tourism development. In particular, the region's tourism products and services are increasingly diverse, gradually bringing the Northeastern tourism brand to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. Statistics for the period of 2024 - 2025, the total number of tourists to the Northeastern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City reached 69.2 million; the total revenue from tourists of the linkage group reached about 205,586 billion VND./.
