The "District 1 - Colors of the Night" tour is expected to attract both locals and domestic and international tourists.
This tour program takes visitors to see familiar destinations in Ho Chi Minh City, sparkling under the vibrant city lights, such as the historic Continental Saigon Hotel, enjoying the À Ố Show at the City Theater, visiting the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Thanh Market, and experiencing a relaxing foot massage.
Nighttime tourism helps diversify products.
For a long time, the night-time economy has been identified as one of the pillars of tourism development in some localities with geographical and natural environmental advantages. In Vietnam, according to statistics, up to 70% of tourist spending during a tour in a locality is spent on night-time tourism services.
As for Ho Chi Minh City, in the process of recovering and promoting socio-economic development after the Covid-19 pandemic, the contribution of the night-time economy to the city's tourism recovery is clearly evident with its commercial, service, tourism, and entertainment activities.
According to statistics, while the total number of international visitors to the city has only recovered to about 65%, total tourism revenue has already exceeded 25% compared to the pre-Covid-19 period - 2019, with a significant contribution from night-time economic services.
Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that in the development plan of "each district and county having a distinctive product," the city's tourism industry also sets a follow-up goal of adding a night tourism product to each district and county to diversify the city's offerings. From this, we can clearly see the crucial role of local government agencies.
"Rapid economic development must also prioritize sustainability. Tourism development needs to be green and clean to encourage tourists to stay longer and spend more," Mr. Hoa shared.
Make your mark on the night tour.
District 1 is a key area for tourism development in Ho Chi Minh City, boasting strengths in accommodation, dining, entertainment, shopping, healthcare, cultural and sports events, and numerous tourism products to offer visitors.
The launch of the "District 1 - Colors of the Night" signature tourism product contributes to increasing the number of unique tourism programs in the city to 60 attractive programs. This is expected to be a foundation for other districts and counties to exploit the value of tourism resources from a nighttime perspective to attract tourists and "light up" the nighttime economy in the city.
According to Ms. Mai Thi Hong Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of District 1, this night tour will allow visitors to explore District 1 at night in a different, fresh, ancient yet vibrant and modern way; at the same time, discover the cultural and historical beauty in a very dazzling and charming night.
Mr. Tran The Dung, General Director of Vietluxtour Travel, also shared that the company will incorporate these programs into its regularly scheduled tour product line. The programs will be designed with carefully selected and updated itineraries and destinations to suit the city's current conditions. "We expect the program to not only attract local tourists but also become one of the city's signature products, creating a unique impression on tourists from other provinces and cities both domestically and internationally," Mr. Dung said.
