Due to the severe impact of flooding in Songkhla province (Thailand), the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee was forced to move the entire men's football group B to Bangkok. All matches took place at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).
Previously, according to the schedule, the U22 Vietnam team was to meet Laos on December 4 and Malaysia on December 11 at Tinsulanon Stadium (Songkhla). However, prolonged flooding forced the host country to move 10 events, including men's football group B, to Bangkok.

The match schedule of U22 Vietnam in Group B has also been adjusted with the opening match taking place on December 3, one day earlier than the old plan, while the second match remains on December 11. The semi-finals and finals will take place on December 15 and December 18 respectively.
The number of participating teams in men's football at the 33rd SEA Games has changed as the Cambodian Olympic Committee announced its withdrawal from 8 competitions, including men's and women's football.
This decision left Group A – originally consisting of Thailand, Timor-Leste and Cambodia – with only two teams. The Organizing Committee has made adjustments, planning to move U22 Singapore from Group C to Group A to replace Cambodia.
According to this plan, the men's football event of the 33rd SEA Games will have 9 participating teams and will be divided into 3 groups, each group consisting of 3 teams. Group A: Thailand, Timor-Leste, Singapore; Group B: Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos and Group C: Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines.

The Vietnam U22 team will travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok on the morning of December 1. The VFF's advance team will be in Bangkok from November 30 to check the conditions of the hotel, training ground, competition ground and related logistical requirements, thereby providing maximum support to coach Kim Sang Sik and his team during the competition at the 33rd SEA Games.
