1,987 more Covid-19 cases on May 15

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health , today, May 15, the country recorded 1,987 cases of Covid-19. Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 11.592 million cases of Covid-19, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. With a rate of 117,152 cases of Covid-19/million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories.

Today, May 15, the country recorded 1,987 new Covid-19 cases

Health departments reported that on May 14, 242 patients were declared cured, with no deaths. Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 10.63 million Covid-19 cases in Vietnam have been cured.

At the treatment facilities, 76 patients are on oxygen. Of these, 63 cases are on oxygen through masks, 5 cases are on high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), 3 cases are on non-invasive ventilation and 5 cases are on invasive ventilation.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, there have been 43,201 deaths from Covid-19 in Vietnam, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

The total number of deaths in our country ranks 26th out of 231 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories. Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths in Vietnam ranks 7th out of 50 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 29th out of 50 countries and territories.

Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the Ministry of Health said that on May 14, an additional 11,406 doses were injected. Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, nearly 266.335 million doses have been injected to people nationwide.

Of these, 223.7 million doses were given to people aged 18 and over, nearly 24 million doses were given to children aged 12-17, and more than 18,678 million doses were given to children aged 5-11.

The Ministry of Health requires medical examination and treatment facilities to strictly comply with measures to control the spread of Covid-19 and other diseases; and strengthen protection for patients at high risk of infection such as seriously ill people, patients with artificial kidney disease, the elderly, pregnant women, etc.
