Many criteria for considering high school graduation exam scores
On March 1, the Academy of Journalism and Communication announced its plan for regular university enrollment in 2024.
This year, the academy recruits 2,050 students, an increase of 100 students compared to last year. Notably, the academy reserves 70% of its enrollment for the high school graduation exam score method.
The Academy of Journalism and Communication divides its training program into four groups, including journalism; history; communications, advertising, international relations; and other majors.
The Academy maintains three admission methods as last year, including considering academic records (15%), combined admission (15%), and considering high school graduation exam scores (70%).
With the combined admission method, candidates need to achieve IELTS 6.5, SAT minimum 1200/1600, 5 semesters' report card scores (except semester II of grade 12) from 7.0 or higher, high school conduct ranked good.
If applying for the Journalism major, the average score of 5 semesters of Literature must be 7 or higher. Candidates applying for training programs in the International Relations, International Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, English, Sociology, Publishing majors must have an average score of 5 semesters of English must be at least 7 or higher.
In 2024 - 2025, the expected tuition fee offered by the Academy of Journalism and Communication for mass programs is 506,900 VND/credit.
For majors (fees are collected according to economic and technical standards) such as advertising, professional public relations, international political relations and communications, foreign information, English language, sociology, editing and publishing, the fee is 1,058,200 VND/credit.
Majors that train political theory lecturers such as philosophy, scientific socialism, political economy, history of the Communist Party of Vietnam , and Ho Chi Minh thought are exempt from tuition fees.

According to the enrollment plan of the Academy of Finance , this year the academy will enroll 4,500 students. Of which, the academy reserves 3,100 quotas for standard programs, 1,280 quotas for international certificate-oriented training programs and 120 quotas for joint programs.
This year, the Academy of Finance continues to maintain 5 stable admission methods compared to last year, including direct admission and priority admission; considering academic records; considering 2024 high school graduation exam scores; considering a combination of international English certificates with graduation exam scores; using the scores of the Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment in 2024.
Regarding the method of considering test scores to assess capacity and thinking, this year the academy has changed to "lower the standard".
Accordingly, the floor score for considering the capacity assessment score of Hanoi National University is 90/150 (last year 100/150), the floor score for considering the thinking assessment score of Hanoi University of Science and Technology is 60/100 (last year 75/100).
Last year, the admission score to the Academy of Finance, based on the results of the high school graduation exam and the combination of international English certificates and high school graduation exam results, the major with the highest admission score was customs and logistics - 35.51 points (high-quality program, English subject multiplied by 2).
In the standard program, the major with the highest standard score is business administration with 26.17 points.
With the admission method based on high school academic results, the highest standard score is 29.5 for the following majors: corporate finance, corporate accounting, finance - banking 3, management information systems.
Foreign Language University increases admission quota
On March 1, the University of Foreign Languages , Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that this year the school plans to enroll 2,350 students, an increase of 15% compared to 2023, of which the school reserves 1,750 quotas for 9 language training programs, 250 quotas for 5 pedagogical training programs, and 350 quotas for international training programs.
This year, the University of Foreign Languages maintains four stable admission methods, including direct admission and priority admission for 400 targets; admission by foreign language certificate for 400 targets; admission based on Hanoi National University's competency assessment test scores with additional criteria for 200 targets; admission based on high school graduation exam scores for about 1,000 targets.
In the admission method using foreign language certificates, the school considers candidates with VSTEP certificates (English proficiency assessment test according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam) from B2 or higher, organized by the school and the condition that the total score of the remaining 2 subjects is at least 14 points.
Candidates have IELTS English certificate of at least 5.5, TOEFL iBT of at least 72.
Candidates must have a minimum SAT score of 1100/1600 and a minimum ACT score of 22/36 or higher.
Candidates with A-Level certificates, including required maths or literature in combinations, achieving 60/100.
With the admission method based on the results of the competency assessment test, candidates need to have a foreign language graduation exam score of 6 or higher, and a competency assessment score of Hanoi National University of Science and Technology of 80/150 points or higher, or a competency assessment score of Ho Chi Minh City National University of Science and Technology of 750/1200 points or higher.
