Student Thien An - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School - commented that the test was not too difficult. The reading passage from the work of writer Nguyen Minh Chau was relatively easy to understand. The ideas in the passage were expressed quite clearly.
At the same time, the issue raised from the passage is also very close, between homeland and Fatherland, closely linked to the new changes of the country in the coming time.

At the exam site of Pham Van Chieu Secondary School (Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City), many candidates left the exam room in an excited mood, and they assessed that the test was within their ability. The materials not in the textbooks allowed students to freely create.
Nhu Phuc - a student at Cao Van High School - said that the exam was easy and similar to what the teachers had reviewed in class. With careful preparation and effort in studying over the past time, Nhu Phuc felt confident that he could achieve a score above 7.

At the exam site of Tran Quoc Tuan High School, Quang Ngai City, many candidates said that the writing was within their ability.
Contestant Minh Nguyen shared: "I think the essay topic is suitable for me. This year's topic is about young people, which is quite interesting, and contestants can think in their own way. I think the exam is within my ability and I predict about 8 points."

Student Bao Thy - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School - said that she liked the literary essay section in the literature exam the most because the content was very open, requiring practical knowledge to do the test. "I think with what the teachers have taught me in class and what I am interested in reading through books and newspapers, the innovations in the country's development will be good data for me to have material for this essay test. Literature is really difficult to grade, but I think I did the test and hope to get a high score in this subject," Bao Thy shared.
Similarly, Hanh Nguyen at this test site said that although there were many difficult questions in the reading comprehension section, she was able to do most of them. As for the essay section, there were many concepts that were a bit strange to her and the material was completely new, but Hanh Nguyen said she expected to get a good score in Literature.

Most candidates at the Tran Quoc Tuan High School exam site in Quang Ngai City predicted their scores to be 7 or higher. Everyone thought the exam was within their ability and had an open direction for each individual to think in their own way.
Contestant Quynh Anh shared: "I think the test will have many different acceptable answers depending on each candidate's thinking. Personally, I think the test is not too difficult, but only those with extremely good thinking can get a score above 8. As for a score from 7 to 8, I think many candidates will achieve it.
At the Chu Van An High School exam site in Buon Ma Thuot City ( Dak Lak ), candidate Tran Tien Hung Cuong - the first candidate to leave the exam room, said he took the literature exam according to the 2018 program and felt that this year's exam was easy and suitable for students' abilities. "In my opinion, the literature exam was within my ability, many students could do it and get high scores," Cuong shared.
At the Nguyen Truong To High School exam site, Vinh City, Nghe An , a candidate said the 2006 literature exam included the work "A Phu's Wife" . Candidate Dang Duy Khanh - the earliest candidate at this exam site, said the exam was not too difficult, the structure was within the old program.
Competing under the new program, Nguyen Minh Ngoc (student of Cau Giay District GXTX Center) said that this year's essay topic still revolved around the theme of love for the country and resistance.
"I think this year's essay test is still doable if you read it carefully, it's not too difficult. I also reviewed it carefully at home so I'm quite confident. I think I'll get 9 points on this year's essay test" - Minh Ngoc said.

Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai (Candidate from Tran Phu High School - Da Nang City) shared: "This year's literature exam was quite good and within my ability. Candidate Phan Thi Hieu Thao (Thai Nguyen Secondary School) said that this year's literature exam was relatively suitable, with many classification questions, of which question 4 was very good, evoking patriotism in each person. Candidate Nguyen Huu Nam from Quang Nam, currently serving in the North Central Mobile Police Regiment and taking the exam at Nguyen Truong To High School, Vinh City, Nghe An, shared that the literature exam according to the old 2006 program was not too difficult, the knowledge was in his review program, the structure of the exam was quite familiar. Regarding the writing part, Nam liked the question about the renewal of young people in the current period.

Ngoc Anh said that her average score in literature in grade 12 was 8.5 and she also hopes to get 8.5 points on today's exam.
At the Me Tri Secondary School exam site in Hanoi, Ms. Huong happily welcomed her child out of the exam room and said: "My child said the questions were easy to understand, not too difficult." Ms. Huong's son, Nguyen, commented: "Compared to the old way of giving questions that forced us to study works in textbooks, this way of studying for exams is more inspiring." Meanwhile, some candidates with average academic performance in Hanoi said they were "not sure". A student from Phan Huy Chu High School in Dong Da District said that today's test had new material so he was a bit confused. Although he said he "did it okay", this candidate could only predict about 5.0-5.5 points.
Tu Anh, another student at Thai Thinh Secondary School in Dong Da District, said her average grade 12 literature score was only 7.2, but she hoped to get a 7 in literature. "The reading comprehension part was quite easy, only the writing part was a bit vague," Tu Anh said.

At Luc Nam High School, Luc Nam District, Bac Giang, Pham Thi Tuong Vy commented that the exam required thinking and creativity similar to the sample exam she had done before. She quoted General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to replace personal emotions and feelings with song lyrics: "If you are a flower, be a sunflower, if you are a bird, be a white dove, if you are a rock, be a diamond, if you are a person, be a communist!".
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Luc Nam High School, assessed that the exam was very good, attractive, and allowed for creativity in expressing opinions. Diep cited an example of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's advice on the role and responsibility of young people in striving to study and work. For her, patriotism and protecting the Fatherland comes from small things. If you are a student, try to study hard, be good, and get high scores. As for adults, like the police and soldiers, protect the Fatherland, the Fatherland's airspace, and maintain peace for the people.

According to Mai, the 4-point essay with the topic "Every homeland's sky is the fatherland's sky" is quite good because in addition to understanding history, candidates also need to learn about the country's reality, especially the great changes today. This will determine whether the candidate's score is high or low.
At the exam site of Nguyen Trung Truc High School, Rach Gia City, Kien Giang, candidates commented that the literature test was easy because it was about the homeland and the country. Candidate Pham Nguyen Tuyet Minh shared that she had reviewed all the knowledge taught by the teachers in class, so she was very confident when facing this question. Candidate Pham Gia Thuan was also confident that he could do it. In particular, the topic of the homeland's sky and the country's sky is a good topic and an opportunity for the young generation like me to express my love for the homeland and the country as deeply as possible.

According to Mr. Truong Minh Duc, a literature teacher at Le Quy Don High School, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, this year's literature test was quite good. The structure of the literature test was similar to the reference test previously announced by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The theme of the exam is quite familiar, arousing the patriotism of the candidates. This theme is also shown throughout both the reading - comprehension and writing sections.
The questions are also suitable for candidates. If you practice your test-taking skills well, you will be able to solve all the requirements of the test. Of course, with a test like this, candidates need to ensure the thesis and identify the correct thesis. In addition, the test also has some questions to classify candidates: question 5 reading comprehension and question 2 writing.
Overall, this exam is a good start for an exam, meeting the requirements of the 2018 general education program. It is predicted that the average score for literature this year will be at a good level: 6.5 to 8 points.
Ms. Thanh Thuy, head of the 12th grade literature group at Lomonosov Secondary and High School, also assessed that this year's exam closely followed the Ministry's sample exam structure. The reading comprehension and recognition-level questions did not pose any difficulties for students. However, questions 3 and 4 required students to have logical thinking, apply Vietnamese language knowledge, literature knowledge, and skills of perception and life experience to answer the questions.
"The fifth question in the reading comprehension section is more classified, requiring students to have the ability to appreciate literature and life experience to present personal thoughts/feelings about a meaningful issue related to love and attachment of each individual to the lands they have visited, and more broadly, to the country. This question has the purpose of guiding the dreams and ideals of young people," Ms. Thuy commented.
Regarding the social argument, Ms. Thuy said it is very suitable for the current historical and social context of the country. The open-ended format allows students to express their opinions and personal views independently, thereby contributing to forming in them a love and responsibility for their homeland and country. The differentiation of the question lies in the skill of using arguments and evidence to highlight personal views on the argumentative issue.
Ms. Thuy predicts that the score range will be around 6.0 -7.0 points.
