At the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, affirmed that the achievements in the 50-year journey of building, innovating and developing education and training are not only an important foundation but also a driving force for the city to continue training and nurturing the young generation to become responsible citizens, with the courage to conquer knowledge, creative thinking and quality human resources.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City's education has continuously innovated and created, achieving outstanding achievements.
The city's education and training sector has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as meeting universal education and illiteracy eradication standards; maintaining mass and spearhead training results among the top localities in the country.
In addition, the city has always pioneered in implementing many foreign language and information technology training programs that meet international standards, improving learners' competitiveness in the context of globalization and integration, and preparing the foundation to gradually make English the second language in schools.
In particular, Ho Chi Minh City has implemented a project to train human resources at international standards, focusing on 8 key industries such as artificial intelligence, information technology, healthcare , tourism, administration... Investing in educational facilities has received special attention from city leaders of all periods...
"These achievements demonstrate the dedication and sense of responsibility of many generations of leaders and teachers through the ages," Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy emphasized.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy also said that the 50 outstanding teachers honored today are teachers with pure moral qualities and high prestige; pioneers in innovation in educational management; have many outstanding contributions, leaving a deep mark in the process of developing education and training in the area.
“Today’s honoring ceremony is not only a recognition and gratitude for the great contributions of exemplary teachers, but also a message to the younger generation: Follow the example of dedication, enthusiasm, living with ideals, responsibility, and aspirations; unite, be unanimous, and join hands to build a developed Ho Chi Minh City; pioneer with the whole country into a new era - the era of national growth”, said the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
Also on the evening of November 19, the 28th Vo Truong Toan Award 2025 was presented to 50 managers and teachers with outstanding achievements in the entire industry.
This is an award organized annually by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper to honor outstanding teachers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20.
9 teachers were awarded the Second and Third Class Labor Medals.
