Ho Chi Minh City honors 50 outstanding teachers in the period 1975-2025

On the evening of November 19, in Ho Chi Minh City, a ceremony was held to honor outstanding teachers in the cause of building, innovating and developing education and training in the city from 1975 to 2025, and to present the Vo Truong Toan Award in 2025.

Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that since the 6th Party Congress (1986) until now, along with innovation in many fields, the city's education has constantly changed and innovated, achieving many outstanding results: Maintaining universal education standards - eliminating illiteracy, maintaining achievements in mass and spearhead training, always being among the leading localities in the country; at the same time expanding the environment to nurture excellent students, gifted students and develop talents.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, these results were achieved thanks to the leadership of the Central Government, the support of localities, the spirit of solidarity and efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of the city, especially the dedication of many generations of managers and teachers.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy presented commemorative medals to outstanding teachers honored at the program.

“The 50 typical faces honored today all have a love for the profession, a desire to contribute and a sense of responsibility in the career of educating people. These are teachers with pure moral qualities and high prestige; pioneers in innovation in management, innovation in teaching methods, testing and evaluation; and have made many outstanding contributions to the development of education in Ho Chi Minh City over the past half century,” Ms. Dieu Thuy emphasized.

Representatives of city leaders and education sector took souvenir photos with honored teachers.

The honoring ceremony is not only a tribute to outstanding teachers but also a message to the young generation about ideals, responsibilities, and aspirations to rise up; to join hands to build a developed Ho Chi Minh City, accompanying the whole country in the new integration period.

Many stories and passion for the profession were shared by teachers at the program.

At the ceremony, the city awarded the Vo Truong Toan award to 50 teachers and administrators.

At the ceremony, 9 teachers and managers were honored to receive the Labor Medal from the President. In addition, the Vo Truong Toan Award 2025 was presented to 50 teachers and managers working at preschools, general education institutions, specialized schools, continuing education centers, vocational education - continuing education centers and specialized departments under the Department, district and county cultural and social departments. Each individual can only receive the award once during their working period.

Nine teachers and administrators of Ho Chi Minh City were honored to receive the Labor Medal from the President.

The award aims to honor and spread effective and creative educational models and methods; to recognize teachers who are trusted by the community and loved by parents and students.
