A difficult time

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dong, one of the long-time teachers of Hoa Mai Kindergarten, confided: “I have been working at the school for 13 years. Before, the facilities were very poor, teaching equipment was limited, and all teachers had a hard time. During class time, we had to make the most of the available teaching aids, even making toys for the children ourselves.”

These difficulties are not only challenges in terms of material conditions but also concerns in the hearts of teachers. Because in preschool education, facilities and teaching equipment are extremely important factors, creating an environment for experience and helping children develop comprehensively both physically and mentally.

By the 2023-2024 school year, Hoa Mai Kindergarten has begun to see positive changes. With the attention and investment of all levels and sectors, many items have been repaired and upgraded, the outdoor playground has been equipped with new toys, and the classrooms have been fully equipped with modern teaching equipment and tools.

Ms. Lu Thuy Diem, Principal of the school, said: “In the 2025-2026 school year, Hoa Mai Kindergarten will enroll 125 children, divided into 4 classes. The school currently has 11 staff, including 2 administrators, 7 teachers and staff, and 2 contract employees. Compared to before, the current facilities are much more spacious, meeting the needs of teaching and learning well.”

In addition to investing in facilities, the school also focuses on innovating teaching methods, encouraging children to develop creativity and initiative in learning and playing. Experience areas and practice areas are expanded, helping children have a rich environment to practice life skills .

Teachers are always attentive and create a friendly atmosphere for children every day they come to class.

“Currently, teachers are fully equipped with teaching equipment; children have many experiential activities, becoming bold and confident. I hope the school continues to develop strongly, especially in terms of facilities and teaching quality," Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dong added.

In preschool education, the dedication, care and love of teachers for children play a particularly important role. At Hoa Mai Kindergarten, for many years, teachers have always persevered in overcoming difficulties, devoting all their love and passion to nurturing the first generations.

Ms. Lu Thuy Diem confided: “ We are always aware that preschool education is a special profession, because in addition to imparting knowledge, we also have to take care of every meal, sleep, and shape every gesture and word of the children. Every change in the school, every confident smile of the children is a great encouragement for teachers .”

Ms. Lu Thuy Diem expressed: "We hope that the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Hoa Thanh Ward will continue to pay attention and support so that the school can become more spacious and modern.
