An Giang youth join hands in administrative reform

After more than 4 months of implementing the 2-level local government model, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has deployed many professional and modern administrative reform (AR) participation models, serving the people better and better.

Since implementing the 2-level local government model, member Tran Thanh Tu - Youth Union of Rach Gia Ward People's Committee has been assigned to support and guide people to carry out administrative procedures at the Ward Public Administration Service Center. Currently, every day, Mr. Tu guides and supports about 500 people to carry out administrative procedures. He is assigned to guide people to press the queue number to carry out administrative procedures directly and online; support people to fill out records and prepare related documents when carrying out administrative procedures outside the center...

Mr. Tu shared: “Being assigned to guide and support people in carrying out administrative procedures, I consider it a responsibility and an opportunity for me to improve myself. I always update new documents, instructions, and regulations to guide people clearly, save time, reduce errors, solve work quickly, and create satisfaction for people when carrying out administrative procedures”. Mr. Tu is self-studying, improving his English communication skills, and applying information technology to be able to support and guide administrative procedures for foreigners.

Immediately after operating the 2-level local government model, Hon Dat Commune Youth Union assigned 3-5 members every day to support the Commune Public Administration Service Center to guide people in carrying out administrative procedures. The members assisted people in pressing the registration number, guiding them in filling out declarations, installing digital applications, registering for online public service accounts, etc.

Secretary of Hon Dat Commune Youth Union Truong Thi Phuong said: “Hon Dat Commune Youth Union established a community digital technology team to go to hamlets, directly guiding people to access community digital utilities. Union members support people to install and use applications such as VNeID, online public services, electronic payment platforms. At the same time, they guide people on how to submit documents online, look up the status of procedures and make cashless transactions... contributing to bringing digital technology closer to the community, promoting digital transformation at the grassroots level and improving the quality of service to people”.

To date, Hon Dat Commune Youth Union has organized 4 digital literacy classes, attracting nearly 400 union members, youths and local residents to participate in equipping them with basic technology knowledge. "Hon Dat Commune Youth Union plans to form 25 digital technology groups in 25 hamlets to create a core force to support people in accessing and using digital utilities, contributing to promoting comprehensive digital transformation in the locality," said Ms. Truong Thi Phuong.

In order to continue raising awareness and responsibility of An Giang youth in participating in administrative reform, the Provincial Youth Union organized a playground to propagate administrative reform among union members and youth of the province in 2025. The playground was organized in Rach Gia ward, Chau Doc, Thoai Son commune and Phu Quoc special zone. The playground has 2 forms of propaganda including: Propaganda reporters and union members and youth participating in answering multiple choice questions.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Deputy Head of the Youth Union and Children's Affairs Department of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province said: "The playground creates an environment for exchange and learning, encouraging union members and young people to learn about legal knowledge and policies on administrative reform, the 2-level local government model, and online public services, thereby contributing to raising awareness, roles, and responsibilities of union members and young people in supporting people in implementing administrative reform, participating in building a modern, professional administration serving the people".
