Buon Ho Town: Efforts to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

With the spirit of "leaving no one behind", Buon Ho town is urgently implementing a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, helping households in difficult circumstances to soon stabilize their lives.

Báo Đắk LắkBáo Đắk Lắk13/05/2025

As one of the households receiving support to rebuild a new house in Ea Drong commune, Ms. H'En Nie, in Sing A village, said: "I am very happy that I will soon be living in a new, spacious house. My family has 7 members but only 3 sao of land, and the economy is still facing many difficulties. The old house has been degraded for many years, affecting daily life, but the family has not been able to repair it. With a new house, I will try harder in working, producing, and stabilizing the family economy."

Not far away is the house under construction of Mr. Y Than Ksor. Mr. Y Than shared that having a new house has been a long-standing wish of his family, so when he heard the news of being supported to build a new house of 36 m², worth 80 million VND, he was very excited. This is a priceless gift for his family, showing the care of the Party, the State, and the locality that his family will always cherish and remember.

Mr. Y Manh Mlo, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Drong commune, said that the commune has mobilized the participation of the entire political system and all classes of people to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, conduct a review, and ensure that the right people and the right circumstances benefit. Currently, 21/27 houses in the commune have started construction (of which 15 are nearly completed). For households that have not started construction, the People's Committee of the commune guides people to continue completing their documents, speed up the issuance of land use right certificates to start construction soon. In addition, the locality also encourages people to build additional ancillary works such as kitchens, bathrooms, and gardens to improve the quality of life.

Construction of a house for a poor household started in Dat Hieu ward (Buon Ho town).

In 2025, Buon Ho town registered to build and repair 120 houses for poor and near-poor households (107 new houses, 13 houses repaired). To date, localities have started construction and repair of 53/120 houses (44% of the plan). In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have also mobilized philanthropists to build 25 more houses for households in other circumstances in the area.

Despite many efforts, the program implementation process still faces some difficulties such as: many households are living on agricultural land given by their parents or purchased by themselves but are not eligible to separate the land title or change the purpose of use. Administrative procedures related to giving and donating land between relatives are still difficult, affecting the progress of the program implementation...

To overcome these difficulties, in the coming time, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Buon Ho town will continue to promote propaganda to raise awareness of the significance of the program in order to create high consensus and mobilize maximum resources in society. On the other hand, direct wards and communes to proactively support people to complete the dossier for granting land use right certificates before June 30; use funds and make settlements in accordance with regulations; ensure infrastructure conditions and support forces to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Along with that, strengthen inspection and supervision; mobilize more social resources to support newly arising cases.
