Vinh Chau Town completes the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

STO - On the afternoon of June 24, in Vinh Chau town (Soc Trang), the Standing Committee of Vinh Chau Town Party Committee held a conference to summarize the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025. Comrade Duong Sa Kha - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses chaired the conference.

Through screening, the town has 2,263 households in need of housing support (1,742 new households, 521 repaired households), including 286 poor households; 1,618 near-poor households; 117 poor households under the Socio -Economic Development Program for Ethnic Minority Areas; 242 households of meritorious people.

Identifying the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as a key task in social security and sustainable poverty reduction, the Steering Committee implemented it with the message "A million loving hearts - A thousand happy homes". Directing resolutely, mobilizing all resources and the participation of the entire political system, people, and business community inside and outside the town. At the same time, promoting the spirit of "Mutual love", "Whoever has something helps, whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has property helps property, whoever has little helps little, whoever has a lot helps a lot". Especially in the movement, especially through the peak period of 30 days and nights, the entire political system from the town to the communes and wards has focused on directing and organizing the implementation in a drastic and timely manner, ensuring the set schedule.

Regarding funding, the town has received over 63 billion VND from the “Fund for the Poor”; allocated funds to save 5% of regular spending of over 47 billion VND. In addition, the Steering Committee also directed departments, organizations, communes and wards to mobilize relatives, benefactors and sponsors to support materials and funding with a total of over 29 billion VND to help poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties to have more spacious houses. The Provincial Military Command mobilized forces, organizations and people in the whole town to contribute 8,279 working days to support households.

With the drastic participation of the entire political system, the consensus and active participation of the people and the business community, the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Vinh Chau town has achieved remarkable results. Up to now, Vinh Chau town has completed 100% of the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. The success of the program is a clear demonstration of the spirit of solidarity, consensus, responsibility and deep humanity of the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Chau town.

At the conference, 31 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Vinh Chau town received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Town People's Committee.
