Establishing support points for ethnic minorities to apply information technology

Applying information technology to support socio-economic development and ensuring security and order in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is a sub-project in the National Target Program.

The People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province has issued Plan No. 207/KH-UBND on establishing support points for ethnic minorities to apply information technology under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province for the period 2023 - 2025.

The general objective of the Plan is to support ethnic minorities in applying information technology, accessing information on the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws via the Internet. Disseminate knowledge, improve digital skills and information access capacity for people. Improve the ability to apply and use information technology to support socio-economic development.

According to the plan, in the period of 2023 - 2025, Tuyen Quang province will establish 93 support points for ethnic minorities to apply information technology in extremely difficult communes (communes in region III) and communes not in region III with extremely difficult villages. Complete and guide the maintenance and operation of support points for ethnic minorities to apply information technology in the period of 2023 - 2025. Organize training on management, operation and exploitation of support points for ethnic minorities to apply information technology for subjects according to regulations. Each extremely difficult commune is supported with one point. Support points must meet the following requirements: Having solid houses and construction infrastructure; convenient for people to access and use services; ensuring safety and security of people, property and equipment; Having a stable power source.

The number of basic equipment installed at support points includes: 93 internet TVs, 18 microphones, 93 amplifiers, 93 computer keyboards connected to internet TVs, 186 speakers for the hall, 93 sets of auxiliary equipment for installation. The specific number and locations of support: Son Duong district 15 points, Ham Yen district 15 points, Chiem Hoa district 17 points, Yen Son district 24 points, Lam Binh district 10 points, Na Hang district 12 points.

In 2023, the installation of points in Son Duong, Ham Yen, and Chiem Hoa districts was completed; 11/12 points in Na Hang district, 9/10 points in Lam Binh district, and 16/24 points in Yen Son district. In 2024, the remaining points will be installed in Na Hang, Lam Binh, and Yen Son.
