To date, he has published five books about Uncle Ho. Along with that, there are many manuscripts awaiting release and completion.

* National first prize for writing a book about Uncle Ho

Mr. Danh's 5 published books about Uncle Ho include: Ho Chi Minh Dictionary using proverbs and folk songs; Ho Chi Minh's Dictionary of Quotations; Uncle Ho in Thailand; In Uncle Ho's Love; President Ho Chi Minh's Pen Name Notebook.

In particular, the Ho Chi Minh Dictionary using proverbs and folk songs is one of 11 works awarded the A prize for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the topic of Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the period 2021-2023.

The notable point is that this contest organized by the Central Propaganda Department has 1,292 works, 48 records of achievements of collectives and individuals from localities, agencies and units sent to the contest. The final evaluation council selected 238 works and projects that were eligible for the award. Therefore, the spiritual value and recognition that the award brings to Mr. Danh is extremely meaningful. Because for a freelancer like him, having his work published and receiving the highest award in the central-level contest is a great joy.

Mr. TRAN NGOC DANH shared: “My greatest wish is to create documents about Uncle Ho in each specific aspect. Thereby, contributing more useful information for everyone when learning about President Ho Chi Minh”.

The book includes more than 600 proverbs and folk songs (including variations) used by President Ho Chi Minh in their original form and with creative changes. According to Mr. Danh, every time he reads documents about President Ho Chi Minh or Uncle Ho's books related to the content he is looking for, he takes notes. After work, he arranges the notes into sections.

"It took me 10 years of researching books about Uncle Ho before I could compile and publish the work," said Mr. Danh.

Before winning this award, Mr. Danh had a book about Uncle Ho that was released to readers in 1999.

* Efforts to build documents about Uncle Ho

While many publishers have to pay for the printing of their own work, Mr. Danh’s manuscript is covered by the publisher from printing to distribution. In addition, he also receives royalties when the book is published.

Mr. Danh said that of his 5 published books, 4 were published by Thanh Nien Publishing House and 1 by Tre Publishing House. Notably, the book Uncle Ho in Thailand, first published by Tre Publishing House in 1999, was reprinted twice in 2004 and 2009. Recently, the book has been translated into Thai and is expected to be released this November.

Mr. Danh said that he is 64 years old this year. This age is not old for many people, but years of hard manual labor have made his health weak and his right eye has completely lost its vision. However, because of his passion for creating many documents about Uncle Ho to serve as a reference channel for everyone, he still maintains the habit of reading books and coming up with ideas for manuscripts.

In addition, thanks to his wife's support and care, and his son's spiritual and financial support, he has more access to documents. In the past, finding documents, especially buying books, was difficult for many reasons, but now, whenever there is a new publication about President Ho Chi Minh, his son will introduce it to him.

That is why, currently, in addition to the documents sent to the publisher waiting for release, he is completing some manuscripts and hopes to soon have the opportunity to introduce them to readers.
