According to the plan, in the period of 2021-2030, Cat Bi International Airport will be a 4E airport and a level I military airport. The port has a capacity of about 13 million passengers/year and 250,000 tons of cargo/year.

By 2050, Cat Bi International Airport will be a 4E airport and a level I military airport with a capacity of about 18 million passengers/year and 500,000 tons of cargo/year.

For the passenger terminal in the period 2021-2030, the new passenger terminal T2 is planned in the area east of the existing passenger terminal T1. The total capacity of passenger terminals T1 and T2 is about 13 million passengers/year.

By 2050, the airport will expand its passenger terminal, increasing its total capacity to about 18 million passengers/year.

Regarding the runway system in the 2021-2030 period, the existing runway will be maintained with dimensions of 3,050m x 45m, with a 7.5m wide material shoulder. By 2050, runway No. 2 will be planned, approximately 215m south of the existing runway, with a length of approximately 2,400m.

Regarding aircraft parking lots, the plan also expands the existing parking lots to accommodate about 30 aircraft parking positions in the 2021-2030 period and 40 parking positions in 2050.
