The 17th session (Special session) of the City People's Council, term X, 2021-2026, voted to approve investment policies for projects
The projects approved in the 17th session of the City People's Council include: The current storage area of the Da Nang City Administrative Center, with a total investment of over 328.3 billion VND; Renovation of the drainage system and undergrounding of information cables and lighting on 4 inner-city roads (Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem), with a total investment of nearly 382 billion VND; The 10.5m road from Ho Nghinh Street to Tran Bach Dang Street, with a total investment of over 115.1 billion VND; Phu Dong Primary School (facility 1), with a total investment of over 108.7 billion VND; Construction of new classrooms at Phan Dang Luu Primary School, with a total investment of over 62.7 billion VND; Upgrading and expanding roads with roadway width from 3.5m-4.0m to 5.5m in Son Tra district (phase 2), with a total investment of over 103.6 billion VND; Covering an open canal about 500m long in the area of Hong Thai - Tan Trao road (Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city), with a total investment of over 105.5 billion VND.
In particular, the project to upgrade and expand roads with roadway width from 3.5m-4.0m to 5.5m in Son Tra district (phase 2) aims to complete the infrastructure of residential areas, meet the requirements of traffic development, serve people's lives, and at the same time ensure rescue work when incidents occur, contributing to promoting socio -economic development in the area.
Permanent Vice Chairman in charge of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son said that based on the preliminary assessment of the opinions of the community living along the roads that have been invested in upgrading and expanding to 5.5m in phase 1 - the pilot investment part, the majority of households are very excited and agree with this policy of the city.
The recent expansion of roads with a roadway width of 3.5m-3.75m to 5.5m in Hai Chau, Lien Chieu, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts has met the people's wishes in gradually completing the infrastructure of residential areas, improving the landscape of roads, clear sidewalks, synchronous trees, neatly arranging power and telecommunication lines, basically ensuring access for the disabled, meeting the requirements of traffic development, serving people's lives in ensuring rescue work when fires and explosions occur, contributing to promoting people's lives and economic development.
Therefore, the continued investment in the project to upgrade and expand roads to 5.5m in Son Tra district (phase 2) will bring about socio-economic efficiency in the area. The project has a total investment of over 103.6 billion VND, upgrading and expanding 41 roads in Son Tra district (phase 2) with a total length of about 6,789.0 m.
City People's Council delegates discussed and gave opinions on investment policies for projects.
Regarding the project to renovate the drainage system and underground information cables and lighting on 4 inner-city roads (Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem), these are roads in the city center that have existed for a long time, the technical infrastructure (road surface, drainage, curbs, sidewalks...) has degraded, damaged, reducing the quality of service for people living in the area, as well as tourists, no longer ensuring aesthetics and the current technical infrastructure on the route is not commensurate with the status of a class I urban area directly under the Central Government like Da Nang city.
According to the Standing Vice Chairman in charge of the City People's Council, Tran Phuoc Son, the investment in renovating and undergrounding technical infrastructure on these four routes is really necessary, in order to contribute to increasing aesthetics, meeting the requirements of tourism development, economic service to people's lives, promoting people's lives, and regional economic development, in line with the city's general policy.
The project has a total investment of nearly 382 billion VND. The renovation of drainage systems, underground lighting and telecommunication cables for cable lines owned by State units from the city budget are carried out synchronously and in harmony with the undergrounding of power grids and other telecommunication cables.
Currently, the Hong Thai - Tan Trao canal has been separated and wastewater has been collected and sent to the Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant for treatment. However, the bottom of the canal is stagnant water and combined with the situation of people dumping garbage into the canal, it causes loss of aesthetics and environmental pollution. At the same time, the residential areas on both sides of the canal currently do not have green parks for people to do sports and outdoor activities.
The project to cover an open canal about 500m long in the area of Hong Thai - Tan Trao road (Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city) has a total investment of over 105.5 billion VND, including investment in construction to replace the current open canal in the area of Hong Thai - Tan Trao road in Lien Chieu district with a box culvert; construction of parks and landscapes; research to expand Hong Thai and Tan Trao roads; completion, relocation, restoration of trees, water supply and other related infrastructure items in the construction area.
Standing Vice Chairman in charge of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son said that covering the Hong Thai - Tan Trao canal is necessary, helping to increase drainage capacity, reduce the frequency of flooding in the area, reduce environmental pollution, reduce the bad smell coming from the canal during the hot season due to the current open canal status, create public park space (walking garden, trees, gym, landscape lake...), especially the synchronous connection with the Yen The - Bac Son box culvert ensures urban landscape, improves the quality of life of people in the area.
"Immediately after the session, the City People's Committee is requested to direct all levels and sectors to urgently implement and ensure the progress and effectiveness of the Resolution passed at the session," the Standing Vice Chairman in charge of the City People's Council emphasized.
