Vietnam News Agency (VNA) joined the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) in 1969 and is a responsible and active member of OANA.

The Organization of Asia- Pacific News Agencies (OANA) was established in Bangkok, Thailand on December 22, 1961 at the initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

OANA currently has 41 member news agencies from 35 countries in the region, accounting for two-thirds of the world's information.

Vietnam News Agency (VNA) joined OANA in 1969 and is a responsible and active member of OANA.

VNA proactively disseminates foreign information on OANA's media channels to promote the guidelines, policies and strategies of our Party and State; and introduce the country and people of Vietnam to a wide audience in the region.

VNA was elected as a member of the OANA Executive Board for four consecutive three-year terms, from 2013 to present./.
