
The Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) was established in Bangkok, Thailand on December 22, 1961 at the initiative of the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
OANA currently has 41 member news agencies from 35 countries in the region, accounting for two-thirds of the world's information.
Vietnam News Agency (VNA) joined OANA in 1969 and is a responsible and active member of OANA.
VNA proactively disseminates foreign information on OANA's media channels to promote the guidelines, policies and strategies of our Party and State; and introduce the country and people of Vietnam to a wide audience in the region.
VNA was elected as a member of the OANA Executive Board for four consecutive three-year terms, from 2013 to present./.
