Recently, on the social network YouTube, two clips with content about "arrest of Director of Vinh Long Television Station Le Quang Nguyen" and "violations of some leaders and former leaders of Vinh Long province" have been spreading rapidly. Regarding this information, Vinh Long Provincial Police have verified and determined that they are all fake news. The two fake news clips mentioned above have also "disappeared" on the social network platform YouTube.
"Arrest of Director of Vinh Long Television Station Le Quang Nguyen" is fake news
On May 16, speaking to Thanh Nien reporter, Colonel Nguyen Trong Dung, Director of Vinh Long Provincial Police, said that the two fake news clips circulating on the YouTube social networking platform were both spread from an overseas account. "After learning about the incident, the provincial police sent a document to the competent authority for immediate handling and currently the two clips are no longer appearing on social networks," Colonel Nguyen Trong Dung added.
The authorities of Vinh Long province affirmed that the contents of the above videos are completely untrue, fabricated to slander, affecting the reputation and honor of the leaders and former leaders of Vinh Long province, of Vinh Long Radio and Television Station and Mr. Le Quang Nguyen personally.
Speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Le Quang Nguyen, former Director of Vinh Long Radio and Television Station, said he was very upset by the information defaming him.
Colonel Nguyen Trong Dung has directed functional units to urgently verify and clarify the owner of the above YouTube channel and those who spread the two fake news videos for handling according to legal regulations.
On the morning of May 16, the two clips above are being "hidden" from the social networking platform YouTube.
Vinh Long Provincial Police also requested units and localities to strengthen propaganda work among all classes of people so that people know and understand that the above information is completely fake, untrue, and has bad intentions.
Vinh Long Provincial Police affirmed that all acts of providing and sharing fake information, false information, distorting, slandering, and insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, honor and dignity of individuals are violations of the law and will be strictly handled.
According to Thanh Nien reporters, by the morning of May 16, the two clips mentioned above had been "hidden" from the social networking platform YouTube.
