Valedictorian and runner-up in the second round of thinking assessment at University of Technology are both from Bac Ninh.

(Dan Tri) - The valedictorian of the second round of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment exam this year continues to come from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, the same school as the valedictorian of the first round.

According to the announcement on the afternoon of March 17 by Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the highest score of the second round of the thinking assessment test was 92.69/100. There were 4 candidates who scored over 90 points; 67 candidates scored over 80 points; 847 candidates scored over 70 points. The average score of the second round was 54.39/100.

The valedictorian of the 2nd round of the 2025 thinking assessment exam continues to come from Bac Ninh Specialized High School, the same school as the valedictorian of the 1st round.

Notably, the runner-up in the second round of the Thinking Assessment Exam (TSA) is also a student from Bac Ninh Specialized High School.

Previously, the first round took place on January 18 and 19, with nearly 14,000 candidates participating. The valedictorian was Vu Minh Duc, a student at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted. The male student scored 98.61/100 points. This was the highest score ever, breaking all records of valedictorians of previous years.

The second round of the 2025 thinking assessment test was held in 3 groups: Group 1 on Saturday morning, Group 2 on Saturday afternoon (March 8) and Group 3 on Sunday morning (March 9) with nearly 19,000 candidates registered to take the test.

The exam is held at the same time at 30 test sites, including 17 test sites in Hanoi area and 13 test sites in localities including: Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh , Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Da Nang.

The exam marking work was urgently deployed immediately afterwards.

The results of the thinking assessment test are used in university admissions for the 2025 admissions season with more than 50 schools using it.

The method of converting TSA exam scores to the same admission score as other methods will be determined by each school using the results.

As for Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the weighting for TSA scores is expected to be higher and given priority in the conversion formula.

The 2025 Thinking Assessment Test will have another round taking place on April 26-27. Registration is open from April 1-6.
